Director, Enterprise Network

This role ensures the delivery of a robust, secure, and scalable network infrastructure that supports the company’s strategic goals and operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in enterprise networking, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead a diverse team of network professionals. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise network strategy aligned with GSK’s business objectives and technology roadmap. Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the global network infrastructure, including WAN, SD-WAN, security, cloud, and data center networks. Ensure network security, performance, and reliability through effective planning, monitoring, and management. Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and business units to understand and address their networking needs and challenges. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring they deliver high-quality services and meet contractual obligations. Develop and enforce network policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Drive network modernization initiatives, including the adoption of cloud networking, automation, and advanced analytics. Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Manage the network budget, including forecasting, procurement, and cost optimization. Key Stakeholder activity: Senior Director Connectivity: Accountable to ensure alignment with cohesive strategy for Global Connectivity services Enterprise Network Architects & Engineers: Daily interaction with upwards of 10 Architects and Engineers, ensuring that visions are communicated, and processes are optimized Portfolio Director: Weekly interactions to ensure 100+ of simultaneous initiatives are running on track and technical challenges are met Business Units: Regular cadence meetings to ensure that solutions provided are fit for purpose in enabling GSK’s communications needs Strategic Partners: Daily engagement with suppliers that provide network services to the business. Why You? Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification with required experience. 15+ years of experience in Network Services with 5+ years of direct experience managing a global network end to end. 5+ years of experience managing strategic suppliers providing 24x7 operational support and technology vendor support contracts 5+ years of experience managing operational budgets exceeding $25M. 5+ years of experience in digital transformation of enterprise networks Experience in leading globally distributed matrixed organizations. Management experience with suppliers and matrixed multi-functional teams located globally. Experience establishing SRE practices within the enterprise. Preferred Qualifications: Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends. Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences across various technical disciplines and job levels to achieve results. Self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to handle multiple high-priority work demands simultaneously in an outcome-driven organization. Passionate about enhancing the customer experience. Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs. Skilled in operating systems and database administration. Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
