The Talent Centre of Excellence (COE) is part of the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and is responsible for creating a more seamless, integrated, and overall great experience for colleagues and candidates across many of the moments that matter as our colleagues learn, grow, and connect.  

The role of Director, Executive Recruitment reports to the VP, and Head of Executive Recruitment. This Director will manage end-to-end Executive Recruitment (VP level and above) retained search and direct sourcing projects while being the go-to person for a portfolio of business units and staff groups.  They will serve as an advisor to senior executives and other stakeholders on the external talent landscape, aligning talent strategies to key business priorities. The successful candidate for this role will have a track record of driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for working directly with CEG colleagues and senior business leaders to understand business priorities, hiring trends, global initiatives, and the implications for talent acquisition. The Director will build strong partnerships with business leaders to provide a proactive approach to talent acquisition in key areas of our business by driving top talent into hires. Being close to the marketplace through benchmarking and networking, the person in this role will analyze both recruitment and business trends to provide expert solutions to finding top talent. These insights will drive recommendations on staffing processes, projects and sourcing prospects that result in finding top talent. 
 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

As a retained search subject matter expert, create and execute executive recruitment strategies with a focus on applying best-in-class search and sourcing methods to deliver on business needs while ensuring delivery of best-in-class experience for stakeholders and candidates Directly manage multiple end-to-end executive recruiting lifecycles in parallel including - prescreening candidates, reviewing resumes, and assessing applications across several business units and functional areas globally Provide thought leadership to the enterprise, bringing best practices and views on the external executive talent Build and maintain relationships and performance partnerships with executive search firms, research providers and other external vendors; enabling a clear understanding of the AmEx brand, leadership, and culture that support delivery and execution of recruitment strategies Promote American Express’ Colleague Value Proposition to the external market Work closely with American Express business units to align on early talent priorities and deliverables Develop an inclusive sourcing strategy, relevant to the market, to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders Continue to improve and refine executive recruiting processes to ensure efficiency and compliance while delivering on objectives  Build and leverage strong CEG partnerships to ensure a #OneAmex approach on compensation and benefits, operations, learning and development  

Preferred Experiences

10+ years of hands-on executive level recruitment experience gained within the in-house executive recruitment team at a leading global organization or highly regarded executive search firm Proven ability to engage, assess and attract executive-level candidates Experience compiling, interpreting, and communicating data to develop data driven insights or strategies Proven ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level Prior experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with key partners and cross functional contacts in a global operating environment  Proven ability to prioritize multiple demands across many initiatives and juggle a large volume of activity, while maintaining sharp attention to detail Energetic self-starter with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Strong work ethic and sense of urgency Global or cross-border experience desired Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred 

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
