ResponsibilitiesAs a Finance Director, you will lead financial reporting and financial planning and analysis for two Berkley operating units. You will work directly with key business leadership to support achievement of financial objectives. We'll also trust you to have direct and indirect leadership of finance team members.
We'll count on you to:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operating unit financial statements. Includes preparing, analyzing, reviewing, and presenting resultsPrepare annual financial plans, including premium, loss and expense planning. Identify opportunities for growth and expense management, working directly with operating unit staff and managementConduct financial modeling to determine the impact of potential scenarios and plansPrepare financial analyses and participate in special projects supporting operating units or corporate initiatives (accounting, systems, etc.)Provide direct and indirect leadership, development, and mentoring for finance department employeesPerform other related duties as assigned by management QualificationsWhat you need to have:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceWorking knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Ability to be proactive, a self-starter with the ability to manage time effectivelyStrong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external business partners Regularly and consistently demonstrates commitment to company values and guiding principles Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookWhat makes you stand out:
