The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Director, Finance to join our organization. The Director will lead the finance team, oversee internal controls, set financial targets, implement fund-raising strategies, engage with investors, develop a financial strategy, conduct feasibility studies, monitor expenditure, oversee annual insurance, monitor cash flow, evaluate investments, and manage tax compliance. Assist Avantor in implementing effective financial strategies, managing debt, improving revenue, maintaining a healthy financial position, and enhancing investor confidence. Focus on tactical and operational plans with short-term focus
What we’re looking for
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field from an accredited college or university; Graduate degree preferred
Experience: 10+ years experience in finance and/or accounting related fields
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills
Demonstrated leadership, and ability to work in a matrixed and collaborative environment
Ability to work with other executives, managers and owners in developing operating plans and maintaining regular financial reports; ability to modify or create reporting processes to ensure efficient operations and timely reporting
Independent, self-starter, highly motivated
Experience in Life Sciences industry a plus
How you will thrive and create an impact
Full budget responsibility for global functional departments/costs.
Develops and implements annual operating plan and forecasts to accurately reflect current expectations of the business.
Interacts regularly with Executive Leadership team providing insights and recommendations on their monthly progress towards financial goals
Influence senior leaders to correct course and meet quarterly results
Leads the Finance team in developing strong relationships with ELT by setting action plans to achieve annual operating plan
Drives forecast updates and liaise with ELT on risks and opportunities
Develops financial presentation packages for review with Senior Leadership and various business partners on a periodic basis including preparation and review of monthly results
Performs ad hoc analysis to determine methods of increasing operating productivity through sound cost control
Transformation and Strategic Business Priority financial tracking
Actively participates in monthly performance reviews to represent corporate finance functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
