Our fixed income indexing solutions include recognized branded indices such as those for bonds (S&P, iBoxx) and credit derivatives (CDX & iTraxx). The Team A global team focused on advancing fixed income index solutions for the largest asset managers, asset owner and sell side firms world-wide. Our team is responsible for the development, production, strategy and commercialization of the core fixed income index suite for S&P and iBoxx across North America and Europe. Our indices link to live ETF AUM >$150bn. We are expanding and innovating. This is an exciting opportunity to join a product team in a growth stage. The Role The team is seeking a Director with a credit / fixed income background to drive the innovation of credit oriented solutions within our fixed income index business. The Director will ideally have a background in corporate bonds or credit and be able to apply existing knowledge to identify gaps in the market and develop new IP in the credit indexing space. Experience in indexing is not a requirement, however understanding the usage of credit products and indices is critical. Candidate should be able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, managing large-scale projects from start to end. While coding is not required, ability to work alongside quantitative teams to manage output and solutions is critical. The Director will also have the opportunity to manage and develop talent. What’s in it for you Opportunity to develop innovative credit products and bring them to market Regular interaction with major clients to develop new strategies and act as subject matter expert on methodologies The opportunity to be a spokesperson for a suite of high profile indices High visibility to senior leaders within our organization and with our key clients A challenging but rewarding role that requires collaboration with a wide range of internal teams and clients A high degree of variety where no two days are the same Responsibilities Focusing on the Americas market, work with FICC team leaders to enable the growing profitability and success of product lines in all respects Identify gaps in credit market, secure data sources across the firm, and develop new IP alongside a team of R&D and product managers Partner with client coverage, channel management, capital markets and marketing teams to strengthen our relationships with all client types Lead product engagement and education with the clients and internal stakeholders; Serve as deep-knowledge expert on index methodologies; be able to explain these and contribute to product improvements as well as new product design Coordinate the index launch process from end to end; act as internal champion for indices through the launch process. Collaborate with broader PM team and stakeholders (R&D, Technology, IMPG, Governance, commercials, etc) to deliver on product goals Publish product support materials including presentations, papers, blogs, index analysis, and commentary. Participate in marketing events as a Fixed Income product SME, including conferences/webinars Publish thought leadership including presentations, papers, blogs, index analysis, and commentary Contribute to product innovation and enhancements, including around consultations and annual index reviews Manage and develop a team of multi-disciplinary Product Managers What we’re looking for 7+ years of experience working with fixed income [ideally corporate credit / bonds] in the index industry or related Client-facing / commercial experience critical Experienced people leader. Willing and able to assume responsibility for managing and developing product talent across asset classes and geographies Undergraduate degree or equivalent in mathematics, finance, or a related field Proven track record in product development and/or research Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presenting Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to roll up the sleeves and execute Preferred Skills and Experience Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant field Progress towards, or obtained a CFA charter Knowledge of analytical platforms such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MSCI / Barra, or Axioma Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $165,000 to $185,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
