Job Description

As a member of the FP&A team, the director will be involved in all aspects of BPG’s Private Funds portfolio financial analysis, supporting the preparation and maintenance of a wide array of analytical reporting, modelling, and presentations. This dynamic position requires extensive collaboration across various business units across Brookfield, including Asset Management, Investor Relations and Finance and Operation teams within BPG and at the portfolio companies.   

Responsibilities include:

Leverage knowledge of investment business plans to review changes in valuations and returns on a quarterly basis. This includes ensuring alignment with investment objectives, market trends, and other relevant factors, while maintaining the application of consistent and accurate valuation methodologies.

Present Private Fund quarterly performance and valuations to Investor Relations and other internal groups

Assist with leading on the oversight of private fund investment valuations on a quarterly basis, collaborating with Portfolio Management to ensure the use of appropriate fair value methodology for all assets including providing support with implementation

Review investment annual business plans, consolidate the information for fund level business plans, and prepare analyses for senior management and investors illustrating how Brookfield will unlock value through the execution of our various business plans

Maintain the private fund valuation policy and monitor the development and application of sector-specific valuation policies

Build out a process to collect and analyze investment underwriting metrics to satisfy investor requests and drive investment decision making in the future

Support Investor Relations and Fundraising teams on quantitative and complex investor requests

Perform quarterly benchmarking of fund performance against competitor peer group

Prepare specific analysis and special projects as required, often working directly with investment teams, portfolio management teams, and the CFO

Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field

6-9 years of relevant real estate work experience in finance / FP&A / accounting / valuation roles

Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail

Ability to take pro-active initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time

Demonstrated ability to lead work products and working collaboratively with stakeholders

Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities and apply a pragmatic and efficient approach to timely handle complex assignments

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of working with individuals across various levels and backgrounds

Interest in continuous improvement of our processes and outputs

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
