The Director of Franchise position focuses on partnering with franchise organizations to enhance business health and identify areas for improvement. This role involves building relationships with franchisees, lenders, and investors, conducting strategic financial reviews, business valuations, and executing portfolio optimization plans through acquisitions and divestitures. The position also emphasizes analyzing and improving system health, including store economics, franchise capability, and market strategies.
Job Size:
Responsible for the economic health of 5000+ traditional restaurants and approximately 100 traditional franchisees. Manage relationships across the U.S. with numerous franchisees and lenders, overseeing financial health for a significant number of restaurants within the Pizza Hut brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Franchise Growth (40%) – Develop and maintain relationships with restaurant brokers and franchise lenders to promote buying and selling opportunities within the Pizza Hut brand. Support franchisees in growth by connecting them with capital funding sources. Organize annual Lenders’ Day and partner with Pizza Hut Development to assess and execute growth opportunities. Manage franchise Ownership Change process and develop financial models for distressed franchise businesses. Restaurant Economics (40%) – Monitor franchisees’ financial performance through analysis of financial statements and key financial ratios. Represent Pizza Hut Finance as the cross-functional liaison for strategic growth projects and closure mitigation. Create quarterly reporting on franchisee store P&Ls, identify key insights, and share findings with the company. Ad Hoc (20%) – Support the Director of Franchise Finance in preparing detailed reports on YTD progress against strategic goals. Assist the Pizza Hut Finance Team in various ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.Required Qualifications:
Must reside in DFW area and adhere to a hybrid work schedule. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years in financial analysis, specifically in the field of mergers & acquisitions, business valuation, financial modeling (NPV, IRR, DCF) required. Previous experience with modeling complex business issues in order to influence decisions with a data driven point of view. Experience with presenting to senior leadership teams. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence external creditors, franchise business advisors, and legal counsel is a must. High motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking and a desire to have a large impact on our organization. Must face complex business issues with persistence and stamina. Must be comfortable dealing with ambiguous business challenges. Clear communication, organizational and strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. Ability to partner well with cross functional departments and work with all levels of management, including senior management. Ability to efficiently manage workload well with shifting priorities. Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong/advanced Excel skills. Strong system/technical skills, including knowledge of Microstrategy, People Soft, Hyperion, and proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Qualifications:
MBA Preferred – Finance, Accounting or Economics.
Salary Range: $160,000 - $188,000 annually + bonus eligibility + stock-based compensation (if applicable). This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
