Director, Fuel Coke Marketing/Trader

The Director, Fuel Coke Marketing/Trader is responsible for sourcing and marketing various grades of petroleum coke from global market participants, i.e. traders and refiners, and for aligning supply and demand with the overall Phillips 66 trade position. This position collaborates closely within fuel coke team and will work cooperatively with the Manager, Pet Coke and Sulfur. Additionally, the role will actively engage with Phillips 66 Market Analysis, counterparties, industry bodies and publishers of industry news to maintain up-to-date market knowledge and insights. The role will support business development opportunities, grow market presence, and develop new logistics requirements for that growth. The role will require ad hoc management reports and data requests to support the business.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

Enhancing Phillips 66 market participation and profitability Negotiating 3rd party coke purchase and sales Collaborating with the team to manage term obligations Identifying new production and demand sources Developing relationships with market participants Working collaboratively with logistics teams and Business Development to ensure proper takeaway and logistics capacity.

 

Required Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in job posting country Bachelor’s Degree 5 or more years of relevant experience in an externally facing role with commercial responsibility Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to undertake frequent travel (~ 25%), including some internationally

Demonstrated ability to form long-term commercial relationships and negotiate contracts that deliver optimum results to the company Demonstrated ability to interact at senior management levels Drives for excellence in customer relations Demonstrated ability to see the big picture as well as what is necessary for short-term success Technical understanding of refining coking process and products Highly collaborative team player and able to build trust with internal and external counterparties Ability to constructively manage conflict, influence others and persuade/facilitate resolution Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to ensure clarity and common understanding Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

 

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
