Director, Full Stack Engineering
Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Works in a fast-paced Agile software development environment with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools and helps the team to deliver software solutions using an Acceptance Test-Driven development (ATDD) approach. Builds scalable applications and develops RESTful/event-based web services applications using Spring Boot and Spring Core (IOC) frameworks and using Kafka and OAuth2. Develops full stack application using AWS cloud-platforms (EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, IAM Roles, EKS, CloudWatch and Elastic Search), AWS messaging capabilities (SQS and SNS), and AWS NoSQL datastores (DynamoDB). Performs test automation and conducts unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing. Works within CI/CD pipelines using GIT, Maven, Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes. Designs multi-tier solutions using Oracle RDBMS in data tier and Angular/SPA in front end. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

Designs and architects complex solutions on a distributed, event based, microservices platform dedicated to high scale processing of substantial amounts of data and transactions. 

Collaborates across squads for deliverables and drives engineering excellence, including framework advancement, standards formulation, and performance optimization. 

Collaborates with stakeholders, Architecture, Product Owners and Technical Leads to analyze and define technical requirements. 

Creates technology solutions as appropriate to resolve complex business problems. 

Researches new and emerging technologies/techniques including prototyping to determine capabilities and feasibility. 

Provides technical assistance for multiple squads across the Chapter by mentoring and coaching other developers. 

Collaborates other teams to maintain and prioritize technical tasks including Technology Lifecycle Management and drive continuous improvement items. 

Provides leadership on clean, testable, readable and maintainable code techniques to the team. 

Provides technical and organizational leadership and builds effective relationships to deliver results. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting Web applications according to Agile methodologies, using Java frameworks, Angular UI frameworks, and Oracle databases in a financial service environment. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting Web applications according to Agile methodologies, using Java frameworks, Angular UI frameworks, and Oracle databases in a financial service environment. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing enterprise Web, multi-threaded, and concurrent asynchronous applications, and providing research and portfolio management capabilities on an investment decision support platform using Angular UI, Java Spring Boot microservices, messaging queues (TIBCO EMS and Kafka), Oracle database, and PL/SQL; and reviewing complex data comparisons using Integrity Check Engine for Data Quality (ICEDQ tool). 

DE building and maintaining Cloud infrastructure in AWS Cloud using AWS Services -- API Gateway, Lambda Services, Application Load Balancer (ALB), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Simple Storage Service (S3); securing Web applications using Open Authorization (OAuth) and Identity and Access Management (IAM); and monitoring and scaling Web applications in AWS Cloud, using CloudWatch, Datadog, and Auto Scaling Group (ASG). 

DE implementing Quantitative Model Construction methodology using CPLEX, and GUROBI. 

DE building and deploying Web applications, using Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) tools -- Jenkins, uDeploy, and Concourse -- according to Agile methodologies; and performing quality automation of Web applications using Cucumber, Cypress, and SonarQube.
