Position Summary: The Director of Global Business Analytics for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the development and implementation of analytical frameworks that support decision-making across multiple stakeholders, reporting directly to the Global Finance Operations Director. In this role, they will assist the Finance Director and the VP of Business Strategy in the development and execution of strategic plans and business development activities. The Director will also be responsible for regular monitoring and reporting of industry trends, competitor analysis as well as ad-hoc market research to ensure the company remains agile and informed in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. In partnership with leaders from Commercial and Business Units as well as the VP of Business Strategy, you will work across functions to build shared knowledge and processes. A successful candidate will possess strong strategic thinking, advanced analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively while leading cross-functional teams. It is very much a “hands-on” role (the position has one senior manager as a direct report), best filled by a seasoned business analytics professional familiar with global healthcare markets.
This position is part of Leica Biosystems and will be onsite.
Key responsibilities:
+ Strategic Planning Support: Provide data-driven insights to support long-term business goals, including market expansion, business development activities and product development
+ Competitive Intelligence: Lead the regular monitoring of industry trends, including regulatory changes, technological advancements, and shifts in healthcare delivery models; develop and maintain dashboards that track key competitors’ financial performance, strategic initiatives and market positioning
+ Regular Reporting: Oversee the creation and distribution of regular reports to senior management, including financial performance, market trends, and competitive analysis; ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with the strategic needs of the business
+ Market Research: lead market research initiatives to gather data on customer needs, market conditions and emerging opportunities
+ Ad-hoc market analysis: respond to urgent requests for market analysis from senior leadership, providing fast, accurate and insightful responses; conduct in-depth analysis on specific markets, products, or competitors, as needed to inform decision-making
+ Vendor Management: manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective services; oversee the selection and management of data vendors, ensuring alignment with company needs and budget
+ Knowledge Management: establish and manage a centralized knowledge management system for the collection, storage and dissemination of market intelligence; ensure key insights and data are easily accessible to stakeholders across the organization; lead training initiatives to enhance analytical capabilities across departments
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field with 14+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 12+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 9+ years experience.
+ Experience in business analytics, market research, or strategic planning, preferably within the healthcare industry
+ Proven track record of supporting strategic initiatives through analyzing data and deriving actionable insights
+ Strong understanding of financial principles (planning and reporting), as well as business analytics techniques and methodologies
+ Proven track record of managing projects across cross-functional teams and working across multiple cultures / time zones
+ Demonstrated ability to operate independently and thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments
+ Excellence in interpersonal communications, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to senior leadership
It would be a plus if you also possess:
+ CPA
+ Knowledge of global healthcare markets, including regulatory environments (market access, reimbursement) and key competitors
+ Experience working in an international environment
