The annual base salary for this position ranges from $146,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $346,200.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience. Information about benefits can be found here (https://careers.nike.com/total-rewards) . **WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH** You’ll be part of the Global Communications team for Jordan Brand, working across geographies and subject matter, partnering closely with Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, Finance, Legal, H.R, Design and Product teams, as well as key partners across Nike, Inc. The success of this role will depend on your ability to look across Jordan and cultivate the best stories, strategies, and media plans for Jordan Brand. **WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR** We’re looking for an expert Media Relations Director to join our team in New York City, NY. Cultivating collaboration across the team and fostering effective partnerships is a must. You will boldly prioritize and drive integrated strategies across the brand and business. You will develop relationships at the heart of sport, culture, style music and art. You will be hyper-connected to the communities and culture that matters most to Jordan Brand. You harness the power of storytelling to drive deeper conversations to create an emotional connection with our consumer. You are a strong manager, who can empower the team to think different and invent innovative approaches. You understand the importance of strong team relationships, and you invest in creating a positive culture. You will have a global mentality, strong strategic instincts, exceptional relationship skills, and be able to handle ambiguity to work across the matrix. You value differences and have experience building communications and media relations strategies that complement brand and business moments. You are experienced with new media platforms and integrate them into strategies, constantly testing and iterating. You have been consistently responsible for integrating communications plans with key stakeholders and leaders to build trust and positive working relationships. Your connection to basketball culture and the Black Community is authentic, and part of how you experience the world as a global citizen. + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, PR, English, Humanities, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or related field + 6+ years professional experience in high profile corporate, agency, and/ or public relations roles supporting global brands with a strong preference for an emphasis on culture and sport. + Culturally curious and hyper connected – allows you to constantly be seeking new storytelling opportunities + High taste level, ability to work diplomatically across large teams with a balanced understanding of the sport and luxury industries. + Culturally curious, natural aptitude to voraciously consume global news that spans global events, contemporary and street art, youth culture, music, technology, counterculture, fashion, sport, literary and academic invention + Has a deep knowledge of global trends in both consumer and society spheres with a keen ability to anticipate the future of global consumer movements from influence, behavior, mindset, and migration patterns + Proficient with messaging and materials – particularly adept at writing, flexible in various formats + Background and experience working in footwear and apparel industry is beneficial but not essential + Strong awareness and connection to sneaker and/or basketball culture + Deep knowledge and awareness of New York’s cultural calendar of key events and moments + Proficiency in a second language is beneficial + Proficiency in all media platforms is required **WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON** You will lead strategic media relations for Jordan Brand from one of our most important media capitals, New York City. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications and Purpose, key responsibilities include: + Work across the Communications function to identify priorities and insights, creating a sharp, strategic point of view that can advise and shape the work. + Work with the Vice President of Communications and Purpose in creating and socializing strategic plans that support the brand and business, as well as day-to-day support, guidance, and counsel + Provide guidance across the Jordan Brand Leadership Team and leverage executive voice strategically and responsibly both internally and externally. + Protect the Jordan Brand corporate reputation by handling issues discretely, creatively, and effectively while cultivating collaboration across relevant teams and functions. + Seamlessly become an embedded function of project teams and across key business priorities, workstreams, and consumer-facing concepts. + Deploy creative problem-solving that drives innovative thinking, influences team culture, and supports cross-functional strategy. + Expand Jordan Brand’s connectivity and influence through performance and lifestyle narratives + Provide coaching and mentoring teams, ensuring high engagement, clear accountability, and strong collaboration + Serve the Geos with strategic counsel, support and execution + Ambitious thinking to make Global Narrative strategies locally relevant, in support of cross functional alignment and coordinated execution with our Geo leads. + Inventing new storytelling approaches and leverage emerging platforms to start new conversations that matter most for Jordan Brand’s future. + Driving a global narrative agenda for Jordan Brand through one of our most important media capitals. + Management of the operating frameworks for all strategic partner projects + Bring Jordan Brand’s purpose to life through media relations moments We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
