Director, Global Privacy
The Privacy compliance function is responsible for helping to ensure regulatory compliance effectiveness throughout Manulife by developing compliance programs, standards, and practices, and facilitating the implementation and accountability of these programs, standards, and practices. The Director, Global Privacy, reports to the Deputy Global Chief Privacy Officer and is tasked with providing advice, guidance, management and monitoring of the global privacy program. **Position Responsibilities:** + Developing and maintaining program documents, processes, and workflows to support the ongoing adoption of the global privacy program across Manulife’s businesses. + Leading the management of privacy issues as they arise, including working with Privacy Legal Counsel, Market CPOs, and Market CCOs as appropriate. + Providing guidance and oversight on Privacy Risk Management (acting as Line 2) to help ensure compliance with privacy regulatory requirements and Company policies. + Developing and managing a global monitoring program for privacy compliance control effectiveness through the performance of quality assurance reviews and assessment of key privacy compliance controls; and managing of privacy incidents. + Helping to drive consistent and efficient approaches to common privacy activities by working with the broader Global Privacy team (including Market CPOs and their teams) and other Line 2 functions. + Support Key Risk Audit preparation, periodic reporting, process improvements, and facilitate change management, as required. **Required qualifications:** + 8+ years progressive experience in risk management, compliance or legal roles. + Bachelor’s degree in law, social sciences, business, IT, or a related field. + Exceptional writing and oral communication skills. + Strong and proven program management capabilities and experience. + Proven interpersonal skills: collaboration and communications skills (oral, written, presentation), ability to build relationships, engage and influence others.
