Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Global Quality to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. The Global Quality Director will have a strategic responsibility to provide direction, oversight, and leadership to the quality policies, standards, and systems necessary for quality assurance and supplier quality efforts to ensure customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the global Starline operations and business entities. This role is responsible for implementing a Quality strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, optimizing production quality levels to optimize the quality function. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders including Sales, Engineering, and Operations, and are responsible for all areas of the Quality function and provide support within operations. They will lead and develop the Global Quality Management System, striving for best-in-class products and business practices to deliver the customers’ expectations, managing teams and quality improvement projects across the business.

 

What Will You Do?

Develop and implement a global quality assurance strategy aligned with company objectives set to aid and improve business performance through the quality function.Provide leadership and direction to the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Lead the Quality Engineering team to ensure robust design, development, and introduction of new products.Oversee the NPI process to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements from conception to market launch.Establish and maintain comprehensive product reliability programs.Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure alignment with quality policy, strategic objectives, and organizational goals that drive zero-defect plans and strategies.Collaborate with senior leadership for planning, execution, and management of critical business performance, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives.Develop a competent quality assurance staff by recruiting, organizing, and developing a team.Influences Design activities to ensure strong first-time quality performance.Monitor product performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and reduce failure rates.Develop and manage a global Supplier Quality Assurance program.Collaborate with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet our stringent quality standards.Conduct supplier audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.Ensure all products comply with industry standards, certifications, and regulations.Oversee testing protocols to validate product performance and safety.Manage certification processes to ensure timely and cost-effective compliance.Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.Collaborate with customers to understand their quality requirements and integrate them into our processes.Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all quality-related processes tied to business objections, industry standards, and customer focus areas.Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.Establish quality dashboards to track data and metrics to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and establish key benchmarks for improvement.Mentor and develop the Quality Assurance team, promoting professional growth and skills enhancement.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Ability to travel up to 35%

 

Education:           

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.ASQ, CMQ, CQE certification, or similar preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the manufacturing sector; at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in leading a Quality team with a detailed track record in strategic quality leadership in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated successful leadership experience in this industry. Strong organizational, planning, and negotiating skills are required.Proven experience in supporting hyperscale data centers.Strong knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and certifications applicable to the electrical manufacturing industry.Exceptional leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and collaborate across functional groups.Proficiency in quality management software and tools; Working knowledge of the introduction and management of ISO standards.Ability to travel globally as needed.Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Must be highly collaborative to ensure timely completion of projects.High level of self-initiative and dependability.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.Knowledge of project management processes and principles.
