Director of Quality Management System (QMS)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Quality Management System (QMS) to lead and oversee global QMS initiatives. This role ensures a consistent, effective, and compliant quality system strategy across all company locations worldwide.
The Director will drive compliance with international standards, foster continuous improvement, and promote a culture of quality excellence. Leading a team of QMS Engineers, this role collaborates cross-functionally to align quality practices with business objectives. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of driving operational excellence, leading global teams, and ensuring compliance with international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop, implement, and maintain a global QMS framework aligned with company strategy and compliant with ISO 9001 and TL 9000 standards.Standardize, harmonized, and implement QMS processes across all locations.Provide strategic direction on quality initiatives to QMS teams and key stakeholders.Quality System Management
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, TL 9000, and other industry-specific standards.Oversee CAPA, internal/external audits, and management reviews to maintain an effective QMS.Proactively identify quality risks and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate potential issues.Continuous Improvement
Drive improvement and development of quality standards to achieve compliance.Foster a quality-focused culture through training, engagement, and leadership.Establish, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for data-driven decision-making.Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QMS Engineers to achieve business objectives.Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams and departments.Manage resource allocation and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team performance.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, Sales, and other departments to integrate quality requirements into all processes.Support customer audits, ensuring prompt resolution of non-conformances.Qualifications
10+ years of quality management experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing global operations.In-depth knowledge of QMS principles, international standards (ISO 9001, TL 9000), and regulatory requirements, other standards are a plus.Proven ability to implement and manage QMS in a multi-site global environment.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence at all levels.Experience in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.Certified Lead Auditor, CQE, or similar credentials.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Key Competencies
