Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Electrophysiology, is recruiting a Director, Global Strategic Marketing, Market Insights and Planning, to join our team in Irvine, CA.
The Director, GSM - Market Insights and Planning leads Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s Electrophysiology Market Insights team as well as our Strategic Supply Planning. Working closely across regions and leadership teams, this marketing leader will lead the team responsible for market and share governance, long-range market and procedure modeling, global market research and insight development, and long-range product planning (LRPP) including product life cycle, SKU optimization, and capacity planning. The Marketing Director’s team will also collaborate with NPI teams to understand emerging trends and expected future product usage to partner with Supply Chain leadership on proactive capacity expansion and product rationalization. This role balances strategic, analytical, and creative thinking along with people-leadership, shaping, and relationship-building to develop insights that raises internal awareness of where our market is heading to position and scale the business to be the leader in the electrophysiology space today and into the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead team responsible for market and strategic insights as well as strategic supply planning, to include the following:
+ Deliver concrete strategic recommendations and market insights in the dynamic cardiac ablation market. Train and develop team members to provide continuous support to the business today while keeping an eye to expected future trends.
+ Lead market and share forecasting for the annual Long Range Financial Planning activities.
+ Develop Customer Insights through global primary market research and report out globally and cross-functionally through presentations and workshops.
+ Create and deliver presentations on global market trends, including insights from both quantitative share trends and qualitative clinical competitive intelligence captured from industry conferences and the BWI field. Regularly present to executive level senior leadership.
+ Lead market, share, and research portions of our annual Environment-Scan and facilitate sessions with leadership team.
+ Develop and update global procedure modeling to inform New Product Development teams.
+ Deliver Quarterly Global Market and Share Reporting as well as relevant regional deep dives using a combination of Competitor Earnings, Consortium data, and DRG Pricetrack data in the US. Deliver both reports as well as leadership presentations.
+ In partnership with finance, develop and drive usage of an ecosystem approach to measuring our business performance based on the underlying growth drivers of our revenue performance.
+ Support corporate forecasting cycles with market and share calls to inform revenue forecasts.
+ Partner with Office of MedTech Strategy organization to support Investor events and communications, ad hoc MedTech analysis, and refinement of corporate forecasts.
+ Monitor all public events from competitor companies such as quarterly earnings calls, analyst day events, and presentations at investor events. Publish reports on sales results and product development updates, from expected regulatory timelines to commercial trends.
+ Monitor global regulatory product approvals on all agency websites to report on competitor approvals immediately after data are available. Partner with competitive insights and clinical to predict future competitive product approvals.
+ Development of full Long-Range Product Plan (LRPP) for all product codes, biannually.
+ Development of maintenance LRPP biannually for emerging trends and triggers.
+ Recommend opportunities for SKU rationalization and partner with GSM product management teams to manage life cycle activities.
+ People leadership of four employees (three direct, one strong dotted line).

Qualifications
Education:
+ A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. MBA and/or advanced professional certifications are highly preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
+ 10+ years of relevant professional experience required, with experience in insights, marketing, analytics, pricing, strategy, business development, finance, or a related field preferred.
+ Role requires a passion for problem solving, relationship-building, customer understanding, and simplifying the complex.
+ Self-starter and strategic problem solver with demonstrated ability to implement strategies based on competitive dynamics, economic goals, and customer needs.
+ Intellectual curiosity that drives proactive questioning and understanding of market dynamics and evolving clinical approach to develop actionable insights and strategy.
+ Ability to link customer feedback to portfolio positioning and pipeline development strategy.
+ Ability to use detailed financial analyses and high-level pattern recognition to drive performance
+ High level of communication and presentation skills is required.
+ The ability to prioritize tasks, leading several projects at a time, and eliminating/overcoming unproductive, low priority, or low probability tasks and projects.
+ Experience with MS office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
+ Up to 15%-20% travel required
Preferred:
+ Experience in the healthcare, medical device, or cardiovascular disease area is required. Experience in cardiac ablation, electrophysiology or interventional cardiology, is preferred.
+ Consistent record of influencing across a large organization as a result of strong collaboration skills is preferred.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850. California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $167,000 to $289,800.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
