As part of BAE Systems, Inc s Headquarters global trade function, you will join a dynamic team of subject matter exports committed to empowering the success of our global business. This role will provide critical support to the Vice President, Global Trade Licensing & Sanctions, in overseeing global trade initiatives and promoting operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to partner across functional teams and business units to ensure compliance and effectively mitigate risks while enabling global business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support the development and execution of global trade strategies in alignment with business goals and regulatory obligations;
+ Oversee the quality review and submission, and management of export and import authorizations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government regulations and internal policies;
+ Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to leadership and global trade professionals on complex export licensing matters, including classification, advisory opinions, and licensing requirements;
+ Act as a key liaison with U.S. Government agencies in license discussions and regulatory engagements, including addressing inquiries and facilitating timely resolution of licensing challenges;
+ Monitor regulatory changes affecting global trade and assist in communicating updates to the organization, ensuring policies and processes remain current and compliant;
+ Collaborate with functional and business leaders to integrate trade compliance requirements into broader business strategies and operational plans;
+ Develop and enhance processes, tools, and practices to support global trade professionals;
+ Partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to address technology release issues and foreign trade regulations that may impact business execution;
+ Assist in the development of innovative solutions to address complex export and import challenges, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
This position allows for a hybrid remote work schedule, requiring, on average, 3 days per week onsite.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree and 12 years' work experience in global trade licensing and compliance, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex regulatory challenges;
+ Deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and related U.S. and foreign trade regulations;
+ Experience supporting leadership in the development of licensing strategies and regulatory engagements, including interfacing with U.S. Government agencies such as DDTC, DTSA, and BIS.
+ Expertise in systems such as DTRADE, SNAP-R, and OCR EASE;
+ Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing actionable trade compliance guidance to senior management;
+ Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team;
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to support the development of compliance solutions aligned with business objectives;
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to senior leadership;
+ Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required;
+ U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience with BATFE regulations and firearms trade compliance;
+ Experience in operational oversight of anti-boycott and sanctions regulatory requirements;
+ Advanced degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field;
+ Prior government experience;
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multinational environment, addressing cross-border regulatory challenges.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
