**Position Purpose:** The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for coordinating state government relations and legislation for the Department of State Government Relations and assists the Department of Legislative and Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Compliance in ensuring compliance with federal laws.
+ Lobbies the state legislature and state agencies on behalf of the company.
+ Directs government relations activities including, but not limited to:
+ Sets or recommends legislative priorities and develops public policy positions;
+ Analyzes and reviews state regulatory and legislative proposals, recommends and prepares appropriate company positions (including testimony before legislative bodies);
+ Determines operational impact evaluations as necessary;
+ Coordinates lobbying activities;
+ Communicates legislative and regulatory changes.
+ Recommends initiatives to improve financial performance.
+ Serves as liaison/representative to state and national health plan associations.
+ Prepares and presents reports to Board of Directors as assigned.
+ Assists in compliance with state laws.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Education/Experience:** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Political Science, Health Administration or related field; Graduate degree desirable. Five to seven years experience in government relations/lobbying with increasing responsibilityPay Range: $132,000.00 - $244,100.00 per year
