CGI Is looking for a director to join our Government Relations Team. The Director of Government Relations will serve as an advisor to senior leaders (Sector, Metro, and Business Partner Leaders) regarding government activities at CGI. You will be responsible for cultivating and enhancing our relationships at the state and local government levels, as well as partner with CGI Federal Government Relations team.
This position can be located at any US CGI office with a preference for EST time zone.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state policymakers and staff, executive branch agencies and officials, and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as an in-house specialist on state government, and advise internal colleagues on business risks and opportunities, developing and implementing strategies accordingly.
• Provide legislative analysis and develop written content and advocacy materials as appropriate.
• Lead lobbyist on behalf of CGI with state policymakers within assigned states.
• Raise CGI’s profile and stature with governmental bodies, industry groups, and member associations through thought leadership and proactive engagement.
• Shape state legislative priorities, political strategy, and policy development; understand business priorities, growth opportunities and potential risks to inform policy objectives.
• Work closely with business development teams, external government affairs consultants, and industry partners.
• Draft legislative language, policy briefings and presentations.
• Build coalitions across third-party interest groups.
• Manage external consultants.
• Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years direct state government and/or issue advocacy experience, either on staff or on a corporate government relations team.
• Familiarity with state legislative landscape, agency procurement and Appropriations/Authorization processes.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
• Familiarity with IT issues preferred.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $154,600 - $270,600.
