Job summary – What to expect:
As the HR Director - UK Manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the people strategy for our UK manufacturing sites. This senior leadership position will work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Management Team to drive business performance through effective people leadership. You will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and promoting a positive, high-performance culture.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement the people strategy aligned with business objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering strategic insights and guidance on HR-related matters. In collaboration with Talent Acquisition, lead recruitment, workforce planning, and succession planning processes to ensure the site has the right capabilities for current and future business needs. Develop strategies for talent retention, including career development and leadership succession. Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture, ensuring employee engagement remains strong. Oversee complex employee relations issues. Drive leadership development programs aimed at building managerial skills across the organisation. Provide coaching to senior leaders and management to improve their people management capabilities and effectiveness. Work on organisational change initiatives, foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning to ensure the site remains agile and capable of adapting to industry or business needs. Oversee the development and tracking of HR key performance indicators (KPIs). Use data-driven insights to measure and report on HR effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. Develop, implement and execute HR policies and practices that enable business growth and effectiveness. Lead and drive employee engagement together with cultural change and integration related deliverables for the business units. About you:
We are looking for a HR leader with significant experience preferably gained from a manufacturing or regulated environment. You will need to demonstrate a high level of strategic thinking and the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals, partnering with senior leaders coaching and challenging where necessary to achieve alignment.
Experience & Education:
Proven experience in leading and developing HR teams, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders. Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practices, and the complexities of working in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success in driving organisational change and improving business performance through HR interventions. Proven track record in managing complex employee relations issues and resolving conflicts effectively, with a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. High level of analytical skill and the ability to use data to make informed decisions. Able to deal with complex situations and provide clear, actionable solutions. Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business dynamics and organizational design and impact. Experience of building a comprehensive HR strategy in a multi-location operation to successfully meet business needs. Strong HRIS and Data Systems experience Chartered CIPD highly desirable Degree in an HR/Business related discipline is preferredWhat we offer:
