Director, Human Resources (Georgia Health Plan) - REMOTE

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Dir, Human Resources is the primary HR point of contact for a senior leader of a specific business unit or function in the development and execution of HR plans and programs. Participates in the annual planning process and builds corresponding human capital plans and actions to support business objectives. Manage and support Senior HR Business Partners within a designated geographic region and/or business units. Provides strategic leadership and support in the areas of HR policy & practice, employee relations, compensation, organizational development, talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, performance management, and leader development. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local government regulations as well as internal company practices and procedures in all areas of HR.

 

Job Duties

• Partners with business to build and execute human capital plans to support the achievement of business objectives.
• May provide strategic direction and leadership to a diverse team of remote Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) in developing and implementing HR strategy to create and foster an employee-oriented, high performance culture.
• Partners with senior leaders on all organization restructures/redesigns, ensuring new structure supports achievement of business strategy. Challenges the status quo on roles and offers alternate solutions to current design.
• Ensures Change Management principles are incorporated into all restructures and assist leaders in building the appropriate steps into business processes. (Includes climate assessments, communication plans, learning strategies and corresponding staffing strategies); Educates leaders on the use of consistent approach and tools for all org redesign and change initiatives.
• Serves as a trusted resource and advisor to leadership and management regarding organizational and employee strategies. 
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with employees and management to create an environment of trust, accountability, and open communication for all employees
• Serves as HR leader and SME on all cyclical HR processes and initiatives, including but not limited to employee survey, compensation planning, performance management and goal planning, and talent reviews & succession planning. Coaches leaders and employees on process, ensures maximum participation and completion of process, leverages tools and technology, and identifies and recommends process improvements.
• Proposes, develops, and implements creative alternatives and adaptations of HR programs to meet business needs.
• Works closely with Senior HR Business Partners and COE partners, to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
• Formulates partnerships with COE partners to deliver value-added services to leaders and employees that support the business objectives of the organization
• Assists Senior HR Business Partners in the resolution of complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary
• Limits potential risk and exposure to the company by effectively managing complex employee relations issues; Ensures compliance and consistency with HR practices and federal and state regulations as they pertain to employment laws, and adherence to applicable regulatory requirements at the federal and state levels.
• Directs the implementation of corporate HR driven/designed plans, programs, and initiatives in areas such as compensation and performance management programs, manager tools and training, operational excellence, etc.
• Counsels leadership in the areas of compensation and performance management, training, and employee development. 
• Understands the dynamics of the business, the business unit's financial position, strategic plan, culture, and competition
 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field
• 8+ years progressive Human Resource leadership experience; healthcare industry a plus. 
• 3+ year's supervisory experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
• Managing remote staff members within a designated geography.
• HR Certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred.

Legal / Employment law experience.
