Primary Function

The Director Business Systems partners closely with business leaders and technology leaders by leading the team tasked with discovering and driving technology solutions to business problems. Coordinates Information Technology resources, both internal and external, to deliver technology changes and new systems to meet the needs of the business. Identifies availability of technology resources and matches them with current business priority while obtaining the approval from key business stakeholders. Responsible for the team members tasked with working with identified business partners to understand the existing and potential technology capabilities and how they can best be utilized to address current and future business needs. Develops methods to improve technology operational policies, procedures, standards, and best practices, to ensure that all business needs are met in the correct priority in a timely manner and are compliant with other company policies.

Principal Duties

Manage a team of individuals that work with identified business partners to understand the existing and potential technology capabilities and how they can best be utilized to address current and future business needsManage day-to-day operations for VMware platform both virtual guest and ESXi hostsManages Rubrik platform, day-to-day operations for all physical and virtual hosts including back up schedules, executions, removals, archives, and restoresManages Citrix environment both on-premises and in Azure as well as all day-to-day operationsManages storage devices including day-to-day operations, allocations, scalability and capacity planning both right sizing and expansions based on customer and business needsMaintain a reliable server environment with standardized server builds, EoS/EoL management, patching using SCCM, and vulnerability managementManage day-to-day Logic Monitor tool for monitoring of enterprise including all infrastructure, applications, and websites/URLsRegularly and clearly communicate with key stakeholders in both the information technology and business departments about future project prioritization and current project status, including actively working to resolve any impediments.Encourage and facilitate critical evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.Oversee the process for defining and writing process and procedures to represent business requirements.Ensure the delivery of artifacts as needed to support comprehensive understanding: functional requirements, process flow diagrams, screen mockups, and data flow diagrams.Collaborate with developers and IT subject matter experts to establish the technical specifications and analyze tradeoffs between factors such as cost, time to deliver, usability, system performance, and scalability.Ensure the establishment and continuation of a conduit between the user community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.Proactively communicate with external customers and internal business partners, and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.Establish communication channels between the business units, technology teams and support teams, and ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions.Ensure entire team has a thorough understanding of the business model, operational processes, and key performance indicators.Work closely with business leadership to perform ROI analysis and prioritize IT initiatives.Define project scope, goals, deliverables, budget, and actively manage risk.Develop project plans and coordinate resources to ensure that the project is successfully completed within defined constraints.Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements  

8+ years of experience managing people8+ years of demonstrated leadership ability with information technology teamsExperience managing IT projects, preferably using scrum or other agile development methodologies.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements  

Working and engineer level knowledge and ability to work in VMWareWorking and engineer level knowledge and ability to work with Dell StorageWorking understanding of enterprise backup systems - preferably RubrikWorking understanding of VDI specifically Citrix Microsoft Remote Desktop solutionsWorking and functional level knowledge of enterprise monitoring systems – LogicMonitor preferredServiceNOW functional knowledgeAbility to manage engineers supporting, engineering, and architecting systems including VMware, Dell Storage, Servers, Back up, VDI/Citrix/RDP, LogicMonitorStrong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
