Job Description
The Brand Excellence Director will enhance cross-functional brand capabilities within International Marketing at AbbVie, focusing on building strong global brands that maximize individual brand value and portfolio performance. This role will also prepare markets for upcoming pipeline assets through strategic frameworks, capability building, and hands-on coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Develop Cross-Functional Brand Capabilities:
•Equip brand teams with advanced skills to outperform the competition
•Deep understanding of market evolution and competitor actions, including lifecycle management.
•Building and measuring brand equity effectively.
•Advanced customer engagement strategies beyond traditional models.
•Expertise in crafting and executing communication strategies.
2.Design Learning Programs:
•Partner with the Learning team to create a comprehensive “2.0 Curriculum” and learning assets that teach these skills to all relevant functions.
3. Provide Personalized Coaching:
+ Offer tailored guidance and support to brand teams, including:
+ Strategic planning and implementation during the LSR process.
+ Ongoing coaching for on-market teams to optimize global brand performance.
4.Ensure Best-in-Class Strategic Frameworks:
•Maintain and institutionalize the 1-7-5 Strategic Planning Framework to enable exceptional product launches and maximize global brand value.
•Support the rollout and adoption of a new Tactical Planning framework and associated ways of working.
5. Align Commercialization Planning Processes:
•Collaborate with R&D, Access, Medical, and other functional teams to integrate brand planning into the Pipeline Commercialization Model.
•Ensure alignment across Access, Medical, PA/GA, and other teams for customized learning and seamless execution
Qualifications
+ 15+ years Marketing experience including senior-level in pharmaceutical brand strategy, with a proven track record of successful launches and post-launch brand management.
+ International / Global Marketing experience is a plus
+ Broad expertise in pharma pipeline development and lifecycle management.
Technical Expertise:
+ Advanced knowledge of market dynamics, competitor actions, and brand equity measurement.
+ Strong skills in customer engagement and message management.
+ Leadership Skills:
+ Proven ability to communicate a compelling vision, influence senior leadership, and secure stakeholder support.
+ Demonstrated ability to coach, guide, and inspire cross-functional teams, including peers, senior leaders, and emerging talent.
Learning & Development:
+ Experience in designing and scaling learning programs that drive functional and cross-functional excellence.

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $151,500 - $288,000
