Primary Purpose:
The Director, Legal Operations is responsible for leading all operational and financial management aspects of the Legal, Risk and Compliance Department.
The successful candidate is conscientious, diligent, and intellectually curious leader who has outstanding attention to detail, good process orientation, comfortable with responsibility and accountability, and takes pride in quality work product.
This role focuses on crafting and maintaining efficient legal processes, managing the department's budget, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices. The position also involves vendor management, reporting, and technology oversight, as well as executive compensation.
This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as a variety of finance and human resources personnel, to ensure exceptional administration, tracking and reporting of all aspects of legal operations and executive compensation. In addition, this position will coordinate and oversee a variety of critical corporate governance matters including Board of Directors meetings, worldwide subsidiary management, and maintaining/updating a host of governance documents (bylaws, policies, planning calendars, etc.).
This position reports to the Company’s General Counsel. The position will serve as a member of the company’s Legal Leadership Team.
What You’ll Do:
Develop, oversee, and handle the department’s global budget, including forecasting and spend analytics; serve as the finance department’s primary source of contact Manage and oversee Insurance portfolio Handle Ethics Point hotline database Assist with leading the Company’s relationships with outside counsel, including billing Develop processes for accurately and competently administering, tracking, and reporting all forms of equity compensation granted to Executive Officers and Directors Supports production of Board of Directors meeting materials Manage highly effective team Oversees the Company’s subsidiary management globally Maintain and develop subject matter expertise in governance documents, policies, etc.What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited four-year institution 7+ years of proven Legal Operations experience in a corporate or equivalent environment Demonstrated leadership, decision-making and relationship management skills Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation/influence skills with ability to achieve results in an ambiguous and changing environment Proficiency with developing solid action plans and follow through Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk Ability to operate and stay calm in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment Adaptable and demonstrates strong work ethic with the initiative to work independently High level of integrity supported by sound judgment Ability to work efficiently under pressure and effective time management skills with good attention to detailWhere You’ll Work:
This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week in the office in Downers Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $158,520 - $253,590. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
