Capital One’s Commercial Bank is seeking a Director of Loan Syndications within Capital Markets. This is a senior role that will work with the firm’s relationship managers targeting both sponsor-backed and corporate clients and prospects to generate lead-financing opportunities. The Director of Loan Syndications will be responsible for coverage of targeted business specialties. The candidate will serve as a voice both within Capital Markets and the respective coverage specialties, helping to guide the evolution of both the industry specialties and resulting capital markets strategy.
The ideal candidate must possess strong execution competencies, domain experience and expertise, as well as strategic vision to position for growth. The candidate will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills cross functionally, and must be skilled at managing relationships at all levels within the firm as well as with our clients.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Originate and execute new syndicated loan capital raising engagements, including from the pitch construction and presentation stage, through transaction closing
+ Spearhead due diligence efforts, working hand in hand with the underwriting team
+ Partner with loan sales desk on distribution efforts and investor engagement
+ Guide junior bankers and liaise with clients on creation of marketing materials
+ Partner with internal and external counsel to negotiate credit documentation including engagement letters, commitment papers and credit agreements
+ Maintain timely market expertise and intelligence related to the institutional loan and commercial bank markets, as well as the corporate fixed income markets
+ Evaluate credit and distribution risk in seeking approval for merger and buyout transactions
+ Build credibility and strong personal relationships with senior leaders across the Commercial Bank in order to steer towards alignment on overall business growth and shared goals, as well as to drive high-impact results
+ Mentorship, management and training of junior bankers
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or military experience
+ At least 8 years of experience in Investment Banking, Commercial Banking or Capital Markets
+ At least 5 years of experience with syndicated loans and leveraged finance
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ At least 5 years of people management experience
+ FINRA Licenses - Series 63, Series 79, Series 7

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York, NY: $250,000 - $300,000 for Director, Loan Syndications
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
