Job Title: -- Director, Marketing and Communications

Job Summary: --We are looking for the Director, Marketing and Communications to lead many of the organization’s key marketing functions including branding, marketing communications, market research, and social media.  The role supports our Senior Director, Creative and our Chief Administrative Officer in developing company-wide marketing strategies. The Director, Marketing and Communications will partner across the corporate team and collaborate with subsidiaries to advance their specific marketing objectives.  The company is based in Norwalk, Connecticut, and the role is hybrid (3-4 days a week in the office). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -- 

More specifically, in partnership with the Senior Director, Creative and Chief Administrative Officer, the Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans consistent with the organization’s long-range strategic goals and objectives, including: Build a tactical marketing plan for each objective, while ensuring a cohesive marketing strategy across the organization Evaluate the effectiveness of current marketing programs and initiatives through key performance metrics; identify and propose changes in response to performance metrics Initiate branding programs and ensure strategies emphasizing brand awareness Review market research, including industry and competitive research, to identify existing opportunities and methods to capitalize on potential marketing opportunities Identify target audience(s) for communications and marketing plans and develop highly effective campaigns for each audience. Require comfort and familiarity with social media marketing. Collaborate with the Creative Director to execute the company's advertising, public relations, and social media activities with the goal of establishing and maintaining a favorable image with external stakeholders, potential customers, and employees Work closely with the creative team to ensure that all company communications, media, website and merchandising maintain a consistent corporate image and brand Communicate with subsidiaries about marketing plans. Act as a centralized resource to our more than 100 operating companies.

Qualifications: --   

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations or communications required 8-10 years of relevant experience, including in a marketing, public relations or advertising firm. A demonstrated track record of marketing success in a corporate environment is also preferred. Significant experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media Excellent management and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively manage both department staff and external advisors and vendors In-depth knowledge of both foundational and cutting-edge marketing principles and practices Extensive knowledge of technology, including digital marketing and social media platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and software; ability to effectively self-perform software-related tasks; require strong fluency in analytics in order to manage metrics effectively. Excellent time-management, self-execution, interpersonal, presentation, and organization skills Ability to travel occasionally to operating companies in various locations

Compensation Range:   $ 173,000 - $193,000

This position is bonus eligible.
