Director, Marketing Strategy of MBA And Graduate Admissions - McDonough School of Business

Requirements

The Director of Marketing Strategy for MBA Admissions and Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions will lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies for Georgetown McDonough's graduate programs, including the MBA, Executive, Global, and Specialized Masters programs. Duties Include but are not limited to:

Lead cross-program marketing initiatives that align with the unique value propositions of Georgetown McDonough’s MBA and Graduate & Executive Degree programs, utilizing market research, competitive analysis, and performance data to workshop marketing campaigns with the Office of Marketing and Communications aimed to attract prospective students and drive application growth for the graduate programs.

In collaboration with the Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications, oversee the digital marketing agency in the development of traditional and digital marketing campaigns for graduate degree programs and lead the creation of targeted organic marketing campaigns (on own platform) for the Full-time MBA, Flex & Flex Online MBA, Executive MBA, and Graduate and Executive master's programs, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.

Lead the McDonough MarTech user group and all marketing technology (MarTech) products related to Admissions, to ensure there is structured and consistent use of each tool across the School to help drive more applications, yield higher quality prospective students to graduate programs, and promote the brand of the McDonough School of Business, managing the budget for the tool.

Manage projects related to sourcing leads, developing email marketing campaign strategy, developing sophisticated analytics, lead scoring models, and other functionalities of MarTech Admissions products.

Conduct focus groups and peer analysis to understand Admissions landscape and identify potential opportunities that would inform strategic decisions, working closely with the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions and the Associate Dean of Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions to drive enrollment growth and enhance the program’s positioning in the competitive graduate education market.

Closely consult with the McDonough Office of Marketing and Communications for branding guidance and coordination across marketing efforts, including paid advertising, viewbook production, website optimization, nurture campaign editorial review, market research, video production, and earned media.

Support the MBA Admissions and Graduate and Executive Degree Programs Admissions teams and recruiting functions by participating in AdComm meetings, reviewing files and class crafting, and interviewing.

Indirectly oversee the team members that manage marketing communications, and indirectly collaborate with the team members who manage the marketing technology events tool and imports leads.

Work Interactions

This role will work closely with (and report jointly to both) the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions and the Associate Dean of Graduate & Executive Programs Admissions. This person will manage full-time and temporary admissions marketing and communication staff members. This position oversees the digital marketing agency for admissions campaigns and lead creation in coordination with the Office of Marketing and Communications. Additionally, this person manages the marketing automation tool, currently Marketo, and other connected applications and its users across the school (i.e.  Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions, MBA Admissions, Salesforce Apps team, McDonough MarComm and Alumni Relations). The position will work in close consultation with McDonough’s Office of Marketing and Communications, including the Chief Marketing Officer, the  Director of Communications and Marketing, and the Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications (and their teams).

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in marketing or higher education marketing, preferably in graduate business school admissions

Proven track record of developing successful marketing strategies for diverse audience segments

Marketing automation, CRM, Analytics and Project Management experience

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans

Experience with competitive analysis and program demand assessment in higher education 

Preferred experience in market research tools and methodologies

Excellent leadership and team management abilities with outstanding communication and presentation skills

Deep understanding of current trends in graduate business education and digital marketing

Must be able to work with various constituencies, including vendors, prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. 

Must be able to think strategically in designing and executing marketing initiatives

Substantial working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and Prezi a plus

 Prior use of Marketo or similar sophisticated marketing automation tool required

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications

Masters degree in marketing, communications or business

Prior use of Salesforce

Experience with an institution of higher education

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
