Director, Mass Torts - Disputes, Claims & Investigations

Primary responsibilities of our Director, Mass Torts will be to manage a variety of engagements within the Disputes, Claims, and Investigations group.  Directors provide value-added consulting services to clients by expanding existing relationships, cultivating new relationships, and providing excellent product delivery.  Assignments primarily consist of overseeing the completion of various types of economic damages calculations and related data analysis, with specific focus on mass tort claims.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:Oversight/performance of key client engagementsBusiness developmentPreparation and/or review of written reports, exhibits and demonstrativesDevelopment of staff members, both technically and professionallyInteraction with clients in engagement-management roleDevelopment of skills and technical expertise to facilitate delivery of servicesDelivery of marketing and/or technical presentationsDevelopment of practice management systems to enhance ability to deliver work product and develop staffPursuit of professional advancement through designations and continuing education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong leadership abilitiesExcellent client-management skillsCritical and logical thinking abilitiesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenCreative problem-solving skillsAbility to critically analyze financial statements and other financial documentsAbility to critique alternative arguments/opinionsAbility to work with changing client-imposed deadlinesHigh degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas – will live the Stout core valuesExperience and expertise in mass tort claims, and experience with related insurance analysis a plus

Education and/or Training:Minimum of 10 + years consulting experience in the accounting, finance or economics areas.  Experience at a professional services firm preferred.4-year degree, advanced degree a plusDesignations welcome (CPA, CFA, ASA, CMA, CIRA, CTP, CFE)

The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
