The Stanford Graduate School of Business Career Management Center (CMC) is a high-performing department that serves approximately 900 MBA students and 80 MSx students (mid-career professionals in a one-year Masters in Management program), and over 32,000 alumni. The mission of the MBA Career Services team within the CMC is to provide world-class career services for MBA students, and support for MSx, PhD and GSB alumni as needed. The CMC seeks a Director of MBA Career Services to lead the team supporting students in their career journeys from admission through graduation. The Director will be a member of the CMC leadership team, manage the team of MBA Career Advisors, oversee career education content development for MBAs, create and deliver career education content, coach students as they develop their career strategy, advise students on their job search strategy, and evaluate and manage external career service vendors. The Director will report to the Assistant Dean & Director of the Career Management Center. This is a full time, hybrid position with the expectation of working onsite 3-5 days per week. **Primary Responsibilities*** Set the goals, objectives and strategy for MBA Career Services, including an assessment of career services needs and development and delivery of virtual and in-person career education programs, online resources, 1:1 coaching, and networking opportunities in collaboration with the CMC leadership team and other key constituents (e.g., MBA & MSx Programs, Center for Entrepreneurship (CES), Center for Social Innovation (CSI)). + Support the work of the Career Advisors, making hiring decisions, providing coaching and mentoring, managing performance and determining staffing levels. + Oversee annual planning process and content strategy, and development of MBA programming calendar, including anticipating and identifying gaps, and unmet or new needs, and developing a plan to address them. + Oversee design and execution of MBA career programming (e.g, interactive workshops, panels, online resources), personally developing and delivering many of the in-person and digital offerings. Do so in collaboration with CMC leadership and the broader CMC team. + Define requirements for collection and analysis of data to understand current and future needs of MBA students and use data to inform CMC decision making. + Partner actively with CMC colleagues and MBA Program stakeholders (e.g., MBA Admissions, MBA & MSx Programs, CSI, CES, student clubs) to set strategy, ensure alignment, and provide a transformational experience for MBA students. + Represent the CMC at senior-level meetings and conferences to both internal and external constituents. Work with MBA students in 1:1 advising appointments as they develop and execute their career goals, including both general career advising as well as sharing of personal knowledge about specific industries and functions. + Stay up to date on career resources and trends in at least one industry (e.g., technology, finance, sustainability). + Evaluate, establish and maintain relationships with vendors who offer products and services that augment CMC offerings. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. MBA degree is strongly desired. Experience in a business role is strongly desired. + Team player committed to proactive communication, collaboration and engagement with other CMC teams including operations and employer engagement, GSB managers and staff, key stakeholders, alumni, career center peers and 3rd party resource providers. + Strong knowledge of and interest in sectors, industries and employers who do or could hire GSB students and alumni. + Able to operate with a high degree of personal accountability and commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and with an unwavering focus on working to achieve best, balanced, optimal outcomes. + Able to manage projects from start-to-finish, defining and executing business processes, and evaluating, improving or augmenting existing projects, programs, and processes. + Advanced presentation and communication skills to clearly, engagingly and effectively communicate information to students, alumni, employers, peers and all levels of management. + Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and innovative in an environment where change is ubiquitous and student, alumni, employer and peer demands and expectations are in flux. + Exceptional in establishing rapport and building relationships. + Excellent listener and strong orientation and skill in collaborating, negotiating, and integrating. + Demonstrated leadership and strategic management skills. + Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex financial information. + Strong leadership and strategic management skills. + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. + Understanding of underlying technological needs and requirements. + User knowledge of Google productivity applications, spreadsheet analysis and AI tools. The expected pay range for this position is $130,949 to $181,000 per year. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
