Director, Member Engagement for Mastery Transcript Consortium

The Skills for the Future Initiative is a joint endeavor of ETS and The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching to radically transform education from time-based to competency-based and to build an undergirding assessment system to capture evidence of what's most important for success in high school, postsecondary education, and jobs in the 21st-century economy. The joint initiative leverages ETS and Carnegies history of excellence in assessment and learning science and will drive a paradigm shift in education. Recently, ETS acquired MTC (Mastery Transcript Consortium) as a wholly-owned subsidiary to accelerate the future of this work ( https://mastery.org/ ). ETS seeks an experienced Director, Member Engagement for Mastery Transcript Consortium (MTC) to lead design, development, and delivery of services to MTC’s rapidly expanding global and national membership of individual public and private schools, as well as micro schools and non-traditional learning organizations. A leading advocate of competency-based learning models, MTC plays a unique role in enabling schools and learning organizations to issue credentials that document and provide evidence of participants’ learning and accomplishments in relation to locally targeted skills and competencies. MTC develops tools that help educators and learners capture knowledge and skills gained regardless of where this happens. **Onboarding & continuous member engagement** + Design, implement, and optimize MTC’s systems/processes for onboarding and supporting new members, and guiding them through the full member lifecycle. + Promote and track members’ active use of MTC GROW, a digital strategic planning tool that advances members’ JML. + Support and drive increased levels of member engagement by deepening understanding of member needs around use of MTC’s digital solutions and improving MTC’s ability to address those needs by adapting/iterating digital tools and resources. + Leverage CRM data to strengthen service delivery while collaborating with other staff to ensure accurate and timely account management records for members in Salesforce. **Resource development, professional learning & dissemination** + Ensure development and promotion of effective communications/marketing materials that capture the benefits and use cases of MTC’s digital products. + Oversee/support continued development and enrichment of digital and peer learning resources provided for members in the MTC Member Platform. + Utilize varied dissemination strategies to build awareness of and engagement with MTC member resources (e.g., blogs, bimonthly newsletters, LiveFeed, social media, customized prompts, member resource exchanges). + Design and lead/facilitate monthly professional learning webinars for members to deepen understanding of mastery learning and associated use of competency-based learning records. + Target, vet, and broker partnerships with other intermediary organizations that can provide complementary services and meet on-the-ground needs for school change support and coaching. **Member Meetings/MTC Symposium** + Lead design/redesign and implementation of MTC’s now-annual member Symposium, in context of MTC’s new partnership with Skills for the Future (SFF). This responsibility includes program design, event planning, facilitation, engagement of speakers and presenting organizations, etc. It currently represents a significant portion of workload during 4-6 months of the year. **Sending Schools** + Ensure effective alignment and collaboration with Chief Learning Officer and higher education team members supporting the growing cohort of MTC “sending schools,” which receive more customized services. + Build engagement of/resources for high school counseling staff as part of overall services for individual members. **Member Renewal and Retention Strategy** + Partner with the MTC team to design and implement updated member renewal processes. + Conduct email campaigns to re-engage less active members. **External Presentations, Field Outreach, and Site Visits** + Represent MTC at relevant national and regional conferences and events associated with competency-based learning; submit proposals and coordinate panel presentations highlighting MTC members. + Conduct/facilitate site visits to MTC member schools as resources allow; support development of case studies/story-telling resources to amplify proof points and lessons learned. + Facilitate responses to national media as appropriate.
