Sam’s Club is Member obsessed and growing fast. Increasing our Membership base sits at the core of the company’s growth. As Director of Acquisition Partnerships at Sam’s Club, you will play an important part in driving Membership growth for years to come. We’re looking for a talented leader who will play a key role in identifying and driving innovative new partnership opportunities that grow the Sam’s Club member count.
This position is based in Bentonville, Arkansas and will report to the Sr Director of Membership Partnerships. This role is responsible for developing new partnerships and business opportunities by working with other companies, organizations and internal teams, finding new channels for Membership growth.
What you'll do:
Strategy: Build the membership partnership strategy and obtain internal alignment.Grow the Acquisition Membership Portfolio: Prepare and deliver effective presentations and go-to-market proposals. Identify, negotiate, and close new membership partnership opportunities across a wide range of verticals. Examples could include other membership/subscription companies or Loyalty programs, potential innovative affiliate companies, large employers looking to buy memberships in bulk for their employees, or other companies with existing Sam’s Club relationships.Manage Pipeline Performance: Provide guidance and forecasting to leadership on all pipeline opportunities. Increase visibility and executive support for new business initiatives and support required for success. Consistently deliver superior customer service to partners and be seen as a trusted thought partner demonstrating the Sam’s Club values. Ensure contractual commitments are met and amended as necessary to enable success.Partner and Team Enablement: You’ll manage a team who will be responsible for business development, account management, and sales operations, which includes both negotiating with and managing partners as well as enabling other teams (e.g. Merchandising) with the information and tools needed. Centrally manage all aspects of the deal cycle regardless of source – from initial prospecting, managing internal communication, reviewing deal terms, to contract execution and ongoing account management.Cross-functional Influence: build, socialize, and action a membership partnership playbook that enables a suite of ways in which we can partner externally to drive member acquisition. Use this playbook to socialize across other external-facing areas of Sam’s Club (e.g. Merchandising, Retail Media) to exponentially increase opportunities to grow membership. Partner with internal cross-functional teams to explore and accelerate new opportunities into fully developed business plans.What you'll bring:
5+ years of solid business development and strategic, sales experience; strong in business strategy, go-to-market planning and negotiation. You know how to create growth, find opportunities, negotiate, and work deals with other companies.You know how to identify business value and create compelling business cases to gain alignment for new initiatives.You are good at creative solutioning. You understand how to identify partner needs and alignment/gaps with current capabilities and how to solve for those problems. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
