Director, Mental Health Counseling & Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Director of Mental Health Counseling & Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a dual-role leadership position, designed to oversee all mental health services and integrate cutting-edge therapies like KAP. This individual will lead a team of mental health professionals, provide clinical oversight, and directly manage general psychiatric care for employees and KAP protocols. The role requires advanced clinical experience in psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy to enhance the overall mental health and well-being of Promega employees and their families. OUR TEAM: The Mental Health Counseling team is dedicated to advancing mental health and well-being within the Promega Wellness Center. We provide comprehensive psychiatric care and innovative therapies, including KAP, in a safe, ethical, and supportive environment. Our team includes licensed psychotherapists, physician assistants, facilitators, and wellness professionals who collaborate to deliver exceptional care to Promega employees and their families. Together, we are building a world-class mental health program that integrates evidence-based practices with cutting-edge treatments to enhance overall wellness. YOUR ROLE: In this role, you will lead the Mental Health Counseling, overseeing the development and implementation of general psychiatric care and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy services. You’ll provide clinical supervision and mentorship to mental health professionals, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care. As the program’s leader, you’ll conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage treatments, and guide patients through their wellness journeys. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, driving innovation in mental health care, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment. Additionally, you’ll contribute to program growth by developing training initiatives, enhancing treatment protocols, and establishing Promega as a leader in corporate mental wellness. CORE DUTIES: 1. Program Leadership and Management -Oversee the mental health counseling and KAP programs, ensuring alignment with Promega’s mission to create a world-class wellness center. -Develop and implement protocols for general psychiatric care, ensuring comprehensive support for a variety of mental health conditions. -Lead a multidisciplinary team of psychotherapists, psychiatric practitioners, and facilitators, fostering a supportive, patient-centered environment. 2. Patient Care and Administration -Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial assessments for general care and KAP suitability. -Prescribe and manage psychopharmacological treatments, including ketamine and other medications, tailored to individual needs. -Provide direct care to patients, integrating general psychiatric services with therapeutic advancements in KAP. -Supervise staff in patient care activities, ensuring continuity and quality across all mental health and KAP services. 3. Clinical Supervision and Mentorship -Mentor and supervise psychotherapists and psychiatric staff, ensuring professional growth and adherence to evidence-based practices. -Support staff in integrating KAP and general psychiatric approaches into comprehensive patient care plans. -Conduct regular case reviews, offering guidance on complex clinical challenges in psychiatric care and ketamine-assisted therapy. 4. Program Development and Quality Assurance -Continuously enhance mental health and KAP protocols based on research and clinical outcomes. -Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for controlled substances, particularly DEA requirements for ketamine storage, prescribing, and administration. -Collaborate with external experts and organizations to maintain cutting-edge practices in psychiatry and psychedelic-assisted therapies. 5. Education and Training -Develop structured training programs for team members, addressing general psychiatry and the integration of KAP methodologies. -Organize peer consultation sessions and continuing education opportunities to promote skill development and knowledge sharing among staff. 6. Compliance and Ethical Oversight -Ensure mental health services and KAP programs meet all regulatory, ethical, and Promega-specific standards. -Foster an inclusive, safe, and culturally sensitive environment for all patients and staff. 7. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Board Certification in Psychiatry. 2. Valid DEA registration to prescribe Schedule III controlled substances (e.g., ketamine). 3. Minimum of 7–10 years of clinical experience in mental health treatment, including managing treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and general psychiatric care. 4. Proficiency in psychopharmacology, including contraindications, side effects, and patient screening for therapies such as KAP. 5. Strong foundation in psychotherapy with training in integration techniques for psychedelic experiences. 6. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and crisis management skills. 7. Commitment to ongoing professional education in psychedelic therapies and engagement in relevant professional networks. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Advanced experience with psychedelic-assisted therapies. 2. Engagement in professional organizations or peer networks related to psychiatric care and KAP. 3. Strong leadership skills with a record of mentoring multidisciplinary teams. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods during patient evaluations and therapy sessions. 2. Capability to move and position oneself to interact with patients and staff effectively. 3. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
