The Senior Director / Director of New Business Sales leads a team dedicated to identifying, pursuing, and capturing business opportunities with new customers. This role is instrumental in developing and guiding the sales team to actively prospect and leverage leads, turning these into successful business projects. The manager is also accountable for ensuring that the team meets or exceeds Autodesk's quarterly and annual business goals. The scope may vary from Senior Manager to Senior Director depending on the regional team size and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Implementation: Guides the team in crafting and executing sales strategies that align with Autodesk’s business objectives, focusing on market penetration and revenue growth. The manager translates company-wide strategic goals into actionable team plans
Prospecting and Lead Generation: Oversees team efforts in identifying and targeting new customers through various channels, ensuring a consistent funnel of quality leads. Encourages innovative lead generation tactics and leverages data-driven insights to optimize prospecting
Managing Customer Relationships: Ensures the team maintains strong customer relationships, fostering trust and loyalty. The Manager mentors team members to deliver exceptional customer service, addressing needs effectively to ensure satisfaction and retention
Market Analysis: Keeps the team informed about industry trends and market dynamics, guiding them to anticipate shifts and act accordingly. Facilitates continuous learning and encourages participation in industry-related events and professional development
Collaboration with Internal and Partner Teams: Ensures a cohesive approach by coordinating with customer success, marketing, and partner management teams. Establishes frameworks for effective cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer experience
Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Leads in tracking sales metrics, analyzing data, and preparing reports for strategic planning and forecasting. The Manager uses CRM tools for accurate data capture and analysis to inform leadership decisions
Account Maturity and Handoff: Manages the transition process for accounts reaching maturity, ensuring a seamless handoff to appropriate teams for ongoing management. Develops protocols for sustaining long-term customer relationships and maximizing account growth potential
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience leading teams that sell enterprise software with subscription-based business model
Familiarity with business and technology trends in Autodesk target industries, globally
Understand Autodesk technologies and articulate their benefits to customers to maximize sales results
5 years of Experience influencing without authority, promoting agreement on other teams
5 years of Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects
Experienced working with all seniority levels, internally and externally including C-suite
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years strategic sales experience in the software industry
Experienced in leading strategic plans in a matrixed environment
Proven sales record in quota carrying roles with large enterprises, managing a pipeline as an individual contributor and over a team
Strong sales and account planning process (Target Account selling, Value Based Selling, Situational Sales Negotiation, or similar methodologies)
Adept in driving multi-year plans for long-term growth

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $288,750 and $448,910. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.Sales Careers
