Director, North America Surface Transportation - Retail

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Director, North America Surface Transportation (NAST) - Retail to drive our team’s success across a sizable portfolio within retail customer segments. In this role, you will lead a complex and diverse vertical team of strategic leaders, managing and planning to achieve business and financial goals. Collaborating with other functional leaders and focusing on talent development, you will work to achieve both business unit and enterprise objectives. As a Director, you will serve as the executive sponsor on accounts, and partner across C.H. Robinson divisions to effectively evolve and upsell a broader range of solutions to clients. Responsibilities:Align internal and external perspectives to drive priorities, decisions, and processesLeverage enterprise capabilities and customer priorities for positive outcomes while staying current with industry trends to represent C.H. Robinson externallyLead and motivate teams to achieve exception business results that align to company strategic objectives and performance metricsSupport team performance and business growth by preparing them for customer engagements and position them for growthUse analytics to improve business efficiency, productivity, and financial results while identifying and addressing analytic gapsChampion employee development through coaching, feedback, and mentoring; advocating for career growth and a positive cultureEnsure accountability for employee engagement and retention as well as oversee workforce management, compensation, and budget alignmentPromote diversity and inclusion, creating a thriving environmentOversee budget and expense management to ensure financial efficiencyPartner with internal resources to maximize cash flow and serve as an escalation point and decision makerStrategize resource allocation for business opportunities and service deliveryAdhere to workplace conduct, risk management, and compliance practicesEnter responsibility

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum 10 years’ experience in leadership in the logistics industryMinimum 8 years’ experience and comprehension of the retail supply chainMinimum of 5 years of people management experienceProven experience utilizing analytical tools to understand and manage businessAbility to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge and contributor to C.H. Robinson’s commercial-facing strategy and that of other functionsBroad market and industry knowledge, and/or deep vertical expertiseProven experience leading high-level people leaders and driving accountability and results through othersProven experience driving revenue growth with complex customersStrong financial acumen and financial management experienceProven experience consulting with multiple stakeholders across varying organizational levels, both internally and externallyDemonstrated collaboration, influence, relationship building, and negotiation skillsEffective and flexible communication skills, including proficiency presenting to both internal and external senior leadership level audiencesStrong organizational and customer strategy planning, problem solving/critical thinking skills, and ability to lead others through executing a planDemonstrated results driving the development of self and othersValues and models a diverse and inclusive work environment
