Job Summary
\nDirector of Operations is responsible for the leadership, business and program development of the outpatient clinics at the facility. Responsible for leadership development of the team, assisting in the determination of business strategy, and operationalizing that strategy. Ability to determine opportunities in the community and develop a business strategy to address those opportunities. Development of new business models as well as responsible for growth of existing outpatient clinics. Responsible for ensuring that Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) clinics deliver high quality patient care and efficient services delivered in a cost-effective manner. Overseas and leads the development and implementation of hospital plans, policies, programs, and initiatives required to achieve financial, service, quality, regulatory, and community objectives. Leads operational activities to assess, measure and evaluate current and proposed outpatient clinic programs, processes, and practices and implements as necessary. Ensures clinic operations are compliant with all applicable federal, state, local government laws and regulations, appropriate accredited agency standards, and BSWH system-wide policies and controls. May represent the hospital and its operating units to external authorities or constituencies. Works closely with hospital leadership, clinical leadership, and physician leadership to improve and grow operations in accordance with overall BSWH strategies and objectives.

Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to the role.

Essential Functions of the Role
\n\nDirects operations for assigned area of responsibility for BSWH.\nRecommends and implements strategic and operational plans aligned with BSWH overall business objectives.\nConduct market research, identify business opportunities, and develop partnerships to ensure attainment of performance targets, standardization of processes, appropriate staffing levels and financial performance. \nCollaborate with clinical leaders to develop and expand outpatient service lines. Streamline outpatient operations, improve workflows, and enhance the patient experience. \nCollaborate with the leadership of each operational area to build relationships, improve communication, and ensure the highest levels of patient satisfaction and staff engagement.\nLeads analysis and reporting on hospital and regional quality and financial metrics and implements actions to improve where necessary.\nImproves organizational performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and recommend processes for improvement.\nCommunicates progress and insights on operational initiatives to senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders and employees.\nParticipates in operational committees and work teams across BSWH, collaborating on any inter-departmental needs, issues, and areas of improvement. \nEnsures compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements, as well as BSWH systemwide policies and procedures.\n\n\nKey Success Factors
\n\nBachelors degree in business, health care administration, or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred.\n5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, business development, or related experience \nExperience in a leadership role required. \nAbility to achieve results in a complex, highly matrixed organization, through direct leadership and influence skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization\nDemonstrated ability to drive teams to decisions, synthesizing varying points of view, and make course corrections as required.\nAbility to establish credibility through clear and data driven discussions and presentations\nDemonstrated experience with data analysis, financial statements, and decision-making tools \nPreferred Qualifications
\n\n5+ years of healthcare experience with 3 years leadership experience\nBachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred\nProgram or Business Development Experience\n\nMinimum Qualifications
