What we want
The Director (not ORP-eligible) maintains responsibility for the management and direction of outreach and community engagement for the College of Marine Sciences and Maritime Studies.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Other Factors: Must be able to facilitate events including set up. Able to move materials of medium to heavy weight. Able to work outside of normal business hours periodically. Able to travel.
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ten years of related experience in management.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Essential Duties/Tasks
PROVIDES LEADERSHIP TO PROGRAMS & FUNCTIONAL AREA
+ Develop strategic plan for unit.
+ Serve in key role for college leadership team.
+ Develop the budget and fiscal operations of the unit.
+ Develop and seek funding for programs to promote unit mission. Lead grant and proposal efforts to secure funding for programs and staffing. Create and maintain a sustainably funded office and operations plan.
+ Oversee communications, promotions, and public relations for unit.
+ Develop and implement unit programs including industry and community events, and others to be developed. Create and maintain an inventory of outreach activities
+ Facilitate faculty and academic departments to extend discipline and research areas to youth
+ Lead K-12 outreach programs, building on Sea Camp and expanding into new strategic areas of engagement
+ Supervise Sea Camp and new FTEs as sustainable funding secured to grow the office
+ Serves on various University, division, and departmental committees and represents the department at various State and National associations.
MAINTAIN COMPLIANCE FOR PROGRAMS AND FUNCTIONAL AREA
+ Ensure that programs, activities, and services comply with University, State, and Federal regulations. Oversee compliance for outreach programs including programs for minors. Responsible for the oversight of Programs for Minors on campus
+ Oversee budgets and fiscal responsibility
+ Create an assessment plan to monitor the effectiveness of outreach programs and initiatives in building recruiting and workforce pipelines
