Director, Paid Media Buyer

Athena is looking for a talented Media Buying Director who has a passion for problem-solving, managing change and improving efficiency. The Media Buying Director will oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of our media buying strategies across digital and social channels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in negotiating media buys, analyzing performance metrics, and leading a high-performing media team. We work in an exciting, challenging environment. Requirements What you’ll be responsible for: + Strategically build and develop a high-performing media buying team by identifying talent needs, fostering professional growth, and creating a collaborative, results-oriented work culture. + Develop and implement comprehensive media buying strategies aligned with the company's and clients’ marketing objectives and target audience. + Negotiate and purchase advertising space across digital and social channels. + Oversee the media budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets. + Lead, mentor, and manage the media buying team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. + Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, agencies, and other external partners. + Monitor and analyze campaign performance using various analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for optimization. + Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activities to inform media strategies. + Prepare and present detailed reports on media buying activities, performance metrics, and strategic insights to senior management. + Direct extensive social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement. + Interpret social performance metrics and determine key trends within large amounts of social data. + Manage social media publishing and ad buying platforms (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, etc.) + Understand business objectives, and track relevant industry issues, products, and services, and competitors in the marketplace. + Identify emerging opportunities for a diverse client set. And should have the following experience and skills: + Strong negotiation and analytical skills. + Proficiency in media buying platforms and analytics tools. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. + Creative and strategic thinking. + In-depth understanding of various media channels and advertising platforms. + Deep understanding and passion for staying relevant with current media trends and best practices. + Attention to detail and superior management of timelines across multiple projects and workstreams. + Experience managing a team and scaling for growth. + Comfort pitching new clients and building long-term relationships. + In depth expertise on social media reporting, analysis, and strategy. + Superior knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
