Director, People Operations
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for overseeing the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Employee Relations team to ensure HR initiatives and operations align with business strategies, promote a culture of excellence, enhance the employee experience, and provide exceptional internal customer support. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will work collaboratively with executive/senior leadership, business unit leadership, and other HR leadership/teams to plan and execute various HR strategies. You will directly manage key HR teams/functions as needed and based on evolving organization/business needs. Essential Job Functions + Develop and maintain an understanding of the bank’s strategy, structure, and objectives to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and business goals/needs. + Proactively assist the CHRO and other HR leadership, serving as a cross-functional HR project leader and solution-oriented problem solver, in the design and execution of HR strategies and initiatives to i mprove organizational effectiveness, enhance culture and engagement, improve productivity, and drive workplace excellence. + Partner with executive/senior/business line leaders regarding a variety of both strategic and day-to-day human resources-related matters, identifying opportunities and solutions to achieve business goals and objectives. + Provide strategic, data-driven, and solution-oriented direction on various HR business matters including workforce planning, organizational development, and talent attraction, engagement, and retention initiatives. + Lead the human resources business partner and employee relations team, and other HR functions as needed, providing effective mentorship, guidance, and support in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment; ensure the team delivers strategic value and effective and proactive support across the organization. + Oversee internal investigations of HR-related complaints, allegations, and charges, collaborating with general counsel and other appropriate parties; serve as a key liaison between employees and managers as needed, addressing employee relations matters with a focus on conflict resolution, risk mitigation, and legal compliance to promote a culture of workplace excellence. + Provide coaching and guidance to ensure HR policies and practices comply with relevant labor laws and best practice solutions for various staffing and employment decisions. + Collaborate with other HR teams, senior/executive leadership, and general counsel to create, revise, and implement policies for the Bank. + Oversee the administration of the Bank’s immigration program. + In consultation with general counsel, direct the administration of the Bank’s obligations for labor law postings and implementation of amended and/or new regulations. + Direct the record-keeping requirements mandated by federal, state, and local regulations/laws including the collection and preservation of physical and digital employee files and records in accordance with the Bank’s record retention policies. + Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of compensation, benefits, and leave administration programs, policies, and practices. + Produce accurate, thorough, and timely work, while meeting commitments and following policies and procedures. + Travel on company business, as needed. + Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. + Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work. + Follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Comprehensive knowledge of various human resources disciplines (e.g., workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, learning and development) + Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization, including executive/senior leadership + Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, and presentation skills, engaging and influencing all levels of the organization + Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills, including developing team members and directing resources for task/project completion + Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment, establishing trust and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times + Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen in planning and execution of HR initiatives + Ability to design and deliver effective solutions in partnership with leadership + Ability to demonstrate initiative and effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex HR data and make solution-oriented recommendations + Skill in project planning, organizing multiple priorities for self and others, and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment + Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Basic Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field, or commensurate work experience, required; master’s degree preferred + 10+ years of progressive corporate HR generalist work experience (i.e., talent management/development, organization design, performance management, compensation/benefits planning, employee relations, succession planning) required + 5+ years’ experience leading and managing the work of others required + SHRM-CP/HRCI certification preferred Job Expectations Job Expectations: O perate customary equipment and technology used in a business environment, with or without accommodation.
