The **Director, Physician Systems & Reporting** , reporting directly to the VP Finance for Physician Services of the corporate finance team, is responsible for specialized reporting and data integration/analytics required by the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) Physician Division to improve financial data and processes for the unique needs of the Physician Services Division, Regional, Campus and CTS reporting needs. Using advanced financial systems proficiency and tools, leads and/or assists in integration and conversion projects for building, reporting and technical design needed to move reporting off of disparate systems and connecting them all through Oracle BI for maximizing efficiency and automation. Responsible for monitoring of assigned statistical indicators & reports. Provides operational financial leadership to support to the Network by developing and implementing plans for improved accuracy and timeliness of revenue and other operational reporting to support the strategic initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
A day in the life of a **Director, Physician Systems & Reporting** at **Hackensack Meridian** **_Health_** includes:
+ Monitors ongoing PB financial revenue capture and revenue proof data accuracy from EPIC and other systems to BI and EPIC to PeopleSoft GL. Coordinates regularly scheduled file feeds are updated in multiple systems from Physician billing (PB) systems and ensures they are accurate.
+ Designs reporting to provide key metrics and trends regularly to ensure revenue, AR net collection ratios and cash reconciliation reporting is accurate.
+ Works with other internal and external (Medicentrix) reporting as appropriate.
+ Prepares and provides to the Vice President Physician Services, other Directors and operations team with a monthly management reporting that includes detailed financial, statistical, productivity, information.
+ To lead the efforts including, data needs and technical design, required to move reporting off of disparate systems and connecting them all through Oracle BI for maximizing efficiency and automation of Regional, Campus and CTS needs from financial metrics and reporting.
+ Lead integration, change management and conversion projects for the Physician finance division.
+ Develops and manages project plan documents to ensure completion of key areas.
+ In conjunction with Director of Finance, PB Revenue Cycle, this position will provide leadership during the implementation and conversions of the EPIC physician billing system and the related complexities of handling multiple crosswalks to the various systems to ensure revenue is recorded properly and preparing analysis to ensure accounting estimates and the billing system are accurate and reconcile. To automate cash reconciliation tools. - Full responsibility for coordinating SA 600 and SA800 move to standardization of key tables and builds (master facility, bill area and dept listings) - Documents policy, procedures, internal controls and instruction manuals. Work in conjunction with Controllers to meet project deadlines. Trains, shares information, ideas, and personal skills with other team members.
+ Primary responsible party for Network integrated Physician Division budgeting. Acts as liaison between the corporate budget department and operations and finance management staff in development of budgets. Coordinates efforts of Regional PSD Controllers to ensure efficiency and accuracy of process. Full responsibility for all system, reporting, and data integration for Physician Division budgets.
+ Integrates updated needs, into the budget process as needed.
+ Oversees the budget education sessions for Regional Controllers Compensation and Revenue Directors. Submits combined PSD Network draft budgets to Corporate Finance Team to be loaded into budget system.
+ Oversight over integration of various Financial Systems to allow necessary automated reporting on Physician compensation, actual to budget statistics, and other data and metrics, ensuring reporting is accurate and produced in an efficient manner.
+ Focus on technical systems and report development; must ensure the reporting team is a `Super User' of all financial and budgeting systems in use by the Physician Division.
+ Personally oversees the technical aspect, such as report writing in various systems, data extraction from multiple systems using ODBC, data manipulation for analytics, maintaining/enhancing budget models, maintaining corporate consolidations.
+ Coordinates Physician Division System Administrator functions for various systems including ensuring all dimensions and table structures are sufficient for Physician reporting needs. Positon manages all Physician division data feeds into and out of Axiom and general ledgers from GE, Lawson and PeopleSoft and Epic.
+ Manages various data related to monthly accounting cycle close, including ensuring statistics are accurate and complete, FTE schedules are automated, and complex journal uploads are completed. Understands revenue cycle, payroll or benefit accounting to ensure entries are passed correctly.
+ Supports physician division and executive leadership in completing forecasts of Physician volume providing detailed analysis by Physician, Physician Specialty and Practice including current and prior year activity.
+ Assists in providing information and or coordination, for assigned centralized functions relative to tax returns, construction project budget tracking, annual statistics for marketing materials, surveys, and other lists, support for annual external audits, liaison for annual or periodic inventories and special projects.
+ Assures the absolute financial integrity of financial reporting data.
+ Assumes an active role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing Physician Division operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports and operating procedures. 11. Other Duties as assigned to support Regional, CTS and Network leadership:
+ Participates in assigned executive leadership, CTS and Physician leadership and operations meetings on-site.
+ Develops and monitors internal control systems to safeguard assets.
+ Provides leadership and professional skills to ensure financial plans meet desired objectives.
+ Manages and assigns information requests and oversees interactions with corporate internal audit staff.
+ Adheres to HMH's Managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
**Qualifications**
**Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ Minimum of 10 years of management experience in accounting, finance, revenue cycle, or directly related activities in the healthcare industry.
+ Minimum of 5 years' experience/concentration with large medical group(s) including revenue cycle and advanced reporting and data administration experience.
+ A unique skill set with the ability to understand thorough knowledge of EPIC physician billing system; CPT codes and related modifiers; charging/billing/cash posting and managed care contracting as well as an understanding of general accounting principles.
+ Advanced proficiency in using technology including but not limited to Excel, Epic or other Part B Billing Systems, Axiom Budgeting Systems, Report writing, etc.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, team and organizational skills. Must be able to establish effective working relationships with Senior Management and Staff at all levels of the organization.
**Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:**
+ MBA and/or CPA.
