The Director, Process Engineering will work with R&D, equipment engineering, chemical safety, and production. Your responsibilities include designing, optimizing, and scaling up manufacturing processes. You will also integrate new materials and processes to keep the Laboratory Chemicals Division at the forefront of technology. Managing a team of process engineers, you will ensure production efficiency, quality, and safety. You will collaborate with different departments to implement process improvements, solve issues, and drive innovation in manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Team Management
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of process engineers.
Assign tasks, set goals, and evaluate performance.
Cultivate a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Actively support colleagues within the process engineering team to advance priority tasks and ensure timely project delivery.
Process Optimization
Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Lead and manage projects across multiple process areas, including Facilities, Utilities, Material Handling, Equipment Engineering, and Process Safety.
Project Management
Plan, coordinate, and be responsible for engineering projects from conception to completion.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Collaborate with external contractors on building and facility requirements, advancing challenges as needed to ensure smooth project progression.
Problem-Solving Skills
Identify and resolve process-related issues in a timely manner.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Provide technical support and guidance to the production team.
Take a hands-on approach to solving issues, finding solutions, and implementing improvements.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Implement new technologies and processes to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Budgeting and Resource Management
Develop and manage the process engineering budget.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project and operational needs.
Monitor expenditures and optimize cost-efficiency.
Safety Advocacy
Advocate for safety, promoting standard methodologies across all production sites.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field). A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Strong experience in process engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in process simulation software and other relevant tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the specific industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, automotive, food and beverage, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
Proficient in written and verbal communication (English).
Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with diverse partners (customers, suppliers, engineers, and technicians).
Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
