Job Description

The Director, Procurement Partner – Single Use Division is the leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision with key colleagues in the division. The individual will be a key partner to the divisional operations leader with a focus on strategy, execution and implementation. This position will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. The role will mitigate risk, use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition.

Scale of ResponsibilitiesEstablish and implement short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies and procedures for the Division aligned with the Group performance metricsDeliver on key objectives (Annual Operating Plan - AOP), delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments for Division ProcurementCoordinate long range strategies with the business partners across the Division and implement plansPartners with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantagePartner with Supply Chain to create demand plans for supplier partnersWork closely with Shared Service and Procure to Pay (P2P) process team to ensure efficient end to end delivery modelsResponsible for the coordination of business projects and programs (e.g. M&A integration, make or buy, vendor transition, CSR), monitoring execution and communicating results to senior leadersEnsure alignment with business colleagues within the Group and Division on projectsServe as the point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier ManagementTechnical ResponsibilitiesGather Division business requirements and assures compliance to regulatory requirementsEngage with Supplier Partners, ensuring capacity to meet demand and works with Category Management to close gapsDrive and track compliance for indirect materials, as well as link with Global team for policies and proceduresUse ‘scouting approach’ to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in NPI process, monitor product pipeline (LCM), support product platformingServe as escalation point of contact for Procurement within the Division, work with Category Management to resolve problemsConsolidate, analyze and report on divisional procurement metrics for business reviewsLeadership ResponsibilitiesProvides division input to category strategies (Global, Group specific) and support implementation of aligned strategiesEngage with supplier leadership (Vice President, General Managers, President, Functional and Operations Leaders) to solve business problems and assure alignment with Thermo Fisher objectivesDevelop and assess purchasing talent and improve resource productivity and professionalismMentors and develops staff through coaching and development plans to address individual areas of improvementImplements talent initiatives to improve Employee Involvement Survey resultsDrive the development and implementation of common processes, standardized practices, use of tools and technologies that can scaled company wide

How will you get here?

EducationA Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics or a related area or equivalent; MBA preferredExperienceA minimum of 12 years of procurement/sourcing experienceHigh level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (engineering, sourcing)Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of colleaguesSignificant business knowledge and team building skillsDemonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently present complex informationResults oriented, metrics driven leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approachKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong procurement and sourcing backgroundDemonstrated business knowledge and understanding of operations5+ years' experience leading and managing procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance managementProgressively responsible career path in manufacturing operations and procurement with significant practical experience in international settingsStrong analytical skills and process focusExcellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to empower global constituents to meet business objectives, and possess strong presentation skills at all levels of the organizationStrong leadership, interpersonal skills, and unquestioned integrity and trustBenefits:
