Compensation includes a base salary of $142,100.00 - $236,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Director of Product Management – Invoice to Cash, Retail Billing will oversee product management for a diverse portfolio, which includes stakeholders in Business Operations, EF&A, FP&A, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Supply Chain, Tax, Treasury, Risk, Audit, and more. This role leads and manages a complex, strategically important enterprise billing platform. The Director will collaborate with both technology and financial business leaders to ensure the timely and cost-effective achievement of their goals, through careful planning, enhanced visibility, and coordinated prioritization.

Additionally, the Director will manage the intake and development of new requests, guiding them from the initial concept through to delivering measurable enterprise value. As Cox Automotive consolidates its retail billing platforms, this leadership position will be critical in driving the success of these cross-portfolio initiatives.

A critical part of this role is facilitating decisions with executive-level teams, driving planning, and producing product roadmaps based on the I2C Retail Billing stakeholder portfolio's strategy and priorities. The Director also champions the development, strategy, and lifecycle for the Invoice to Cash, Retail Billing stakeholder portfolio. Their primary goal is to ensure these products are in sync with customer needs and contribute to the overall growth of the business. They often work closely with cross-functional teams and significantly influence the direction of the Invoice to Cash, Retail Billing stakeholder portfolio’s product landscape. 

This leader must build relationships with, influence, and develop a strong understanding of their stakeholder’s needs and problems to solve.  This leader will be a change agent for continuous improvement throughout their portfolio and operate with an agile mindset in a product-centric engagement model. 

This leader is responsible for breaking down the investments into epics and features for the release train and is accountable for the health of delivery milestones. We expect all Release Train Core team members to contribute to features. The Director is critical in ensuring alignment, completeness, and measurable milestones, prioritizing the most significant enterprise value.  

Job Responsibilities

Relationship Management

Builds long-term, strategic relationships and collaborates with senior stakeholders across the organization

Acts as a trusted advisor and single point of contact, facilitating access to colleagues and subject matter experts within the business and technology. 

Facilitates discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution among the stakeholders within a regular engagement cadence

Ensures appropriate feedback loops are in place so alignment remains consistent across the portfolio. 

Maintains a strong intuitive understanding of client’s needs, problems, industry, and business, assists clients in the formation of technology strategies, and acts to ensure that they are offered solutions aligned to these strategies

Analyzes and presents data looking at trends and problems that influence strategies

Creates a culture of continuous improvement and ensures retrospectives are occurring within the release train team and action is taken on relevant feedback

Addresses and resolves customer issues quickly

Defines and executes the product strategy, including feasibility assessments, competitive analysis, gap analysis, pricing, and positioning

Creates and maintains short-term and long-term product roadmaps that align with business objectives and customer needs

Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, architecture, design, QA, etc.) to ensure timely and high-quality product development and launches.

Performance Metrics: Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators to evaluate product success and guide future product iterations and improvements

Demand Management

Supports the efforts to plan work and prep it for portfolio decision-making effectively

Leads release team working sessions and drives review, alignment, prioritization, risk remediation, trade-offs, and metrics to optimize retail billing portfolio outcomes.

Facilitates proactive dependency management and sequencing of all approved work

Experience managing complex work including but not limited to: ideation, scoping, planning, decisioning, budgeting, status reporting, issue/risk management, stakeholder management, and communication

Technology-Driven Discovery Plan Creation & Decisioning

Drives the discovery phase through the creation of Epics/Features, the technology plan, that includes clear articulation of size/cost estimates, dependencies & capacity plan

Drives prioritization of approved Features based on enterprise value, opportunity cost and effort estimates

Sequences Features ready for delivery and facilitates in-take with the Release Train Core and the delivery teams

Talent Development

Supervise, coordinate, and elevate a team of product owners

Work with subordinates to set performance goals and deliver performance reviews

Establish clearly defined developmental plans for subordinates and follow up regularly to ensure progress

Manage subordinates appropriately by effectively utilizing the strengths and individual work styles of team members

Job Qualifications – Experience/Education/Training:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and eight years of experience, a Ph.D. and five years of experience in a related field, or 14 years of experience in a related field

5+ years’ experience in a management or leadership role, managing and leading employees and complex team efforts

An extensive and relevant understanding of subscription billing. Additionally, Experience with Portfolio Management and agile lifecycle management tools is preferred

Human-Centered Design Practitioner Certification is preferred.
