Responsibilities:
As the Director of Product Management focusing on Monetization, you will help Docker maximize revenue and profits through strategic monetization initiatives.
This includes analyzing and optimizing current software packaging and pricing, monetization channels, identifying new monetization opportunities, analyzing market trends, and developing and implementing monetization strategies across various GTM channels.
You will help define and drive the 2+ year monetization strategy, roadmap, and billing solution evolution. You will lead a cross-functional team to build an open architecture and end-to-end billing solution that allows Docker to have successful pricing and packaging design, implementation, and operation across all product lines.
You’ll derive the ideal pricing structure that is both highly intuitive and clearly showcases how we deliver exceptional value to our customers across our entire platform suite.
You will lead a group of monetization PMs and work closely with many product teams, GTM, and Finance, aside from the billing PM and engineering team, to drive large-scale change to build an effective monetization engine for Docker.
You'll love this role if you bring deep SaaS pricing expertise, are comfortable discussing technical infrastructure, and have a knack for product messaging and positioning.
Develop and implement monetization strategies to meet revenue targets
Analyze current monetization channels, customer behavior, and engagement and optimize for maximum profitability
Explore new revenue streams and opportunities
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform monetization strategy
Monitor and track monetization performance, analyzing data and using insights to identify opportunities or improve revenue models.
Lead a cross-functional pricing group to create the right architecture and solution, allowing Docker to successfully design, implement, and operate pricing and packaging plans across different product lines.
Lead the effort to improve the buyer persona journey in self-serve and sales-led opportunities for different product lines.
Identify opportunities and lead solution implementation to improve cross-selling and upselling of different products or product editions.
Work with the Legal and Marketing team to update the current T&C to clarify our pricing plans and improve customer experience.
Lead the effort to build consumption estimation tools for different products.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful execution of monetization plans.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Work closely with our sales, marketing, and product teams to drive revenue growth and improve customer retention/churn mitigation technique
What to Expect:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to think strategically to drive product initiatives that align with our business goals and resonate with our customers.
10+ years of product management experience, 5+ years experience with monetization, billing/payment platforms for cloud products/services
Passion and ability to decompose ambiguous problem areas, strong analytical skills, and customer-focused mindset
Proven track record collaborating and driving alignment on complex cross-organization/teams and cross-functional projects, taking an idea from vision to specification to launch
Proven track record of developing and executing monetization strategies
Deep knowledge in Pricing and Packaging implementation with solutions that span across product, Quote-to-cash processes, finance, business systems, and customer support.
Have experience in designing and implementing pricing plans that serve both self-serve and sales-led opportunities.
Ability to develop creative solutions to complex monetization challenges
Demonstrated understanding of product management and financial concepts.
High level of attention to detail and organizational skill
Enterprise experience at scale, working with GTM.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization are essential.
Highly analytical and comfortable building out comprehensive monetization models and leveraging data for decision-making.
Experience setting strategy, driving change, and delivering impact.
Experience owning, implementing, and architecting end-to-end solutions for consumption-based pricing.

Review and update the monetization strategies to meet revenue targets
Update Pricing and Packaging rollout plan
Review monetization performance, analyzing data and using insights to identify opportunities or improve revenue models.
Lead the cross-functional pricing team to build the end-to-end solution for consumption-based pricing and subscription-based pricing.
Develop and present a comprehensive plan to improve buyer persona experience.
Develop plans to update T&C to improve overall pricing plan clarity
Establish regular reporting and communication channels with stakeholders.
1 Year:
Roll out the pricing and packaging plans for different Docker product lines.
Roll out the foundational architecture and solution for pricing and packaging implementation with joint effort from the cross-functional team
Improve the buyer persona experience across all products
Fully execute and optimize monetization strategies, achieving key performance targets.
Report significant revenue growth and user engagement improvements.
