At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It’s why we work with some of the world’s leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), is a centralized enabler function responsible for leading complex and highly strategic company programs that require significant enterprise-wide cross-functional coordination. We are the ultimate dot connectors. Our mission is to create effective flow, collaboration, and clarity that redirects energy of functional experts towards their primary expertise and enables faster delivery of outcomes. This team lives Audible’s People Principles and strives to model those behaviors. We believe that Activate Caring is the key unlocking mechanism to “…Move Fast to Make it Real” and “Be Customer Obsessed.”
The Director EPMO is a skilled and experienced Program Management Practitioner, effective at using the entire PMP toolkit, and capable of performing both strategic and tactical work that involves masterfully managing the lifecycle of a complex set of initiatives. You must have an innate ability to problem solve and organize through ambiguity and be able to deliver most work independently with limited guidance from EPMO teammates. This role has high visibility and will require working globally across all Audible orgs, marketplaces, and with Amazon teams.
As a Director EPMO, you will…
- Own enterprise-wide coordination of multiple complex and strategic company programs with a high degree of ambiguity and constant evolution, connecting the dots across workstreams to enable high quality and on-time delivery of outcomes
- Manage an assigned portfolio of the most critical projects and programs regardless of topic or prior experience. Projects are a mix of short-term (6 months or less) and long-term
- Demonstrate a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work shoulder to shoulder with your teams, taking on tasks that may not traditionally fall into activities considered project management, in order to better understand the work or unblock the team
- Drive continuous clarity with program teams as business and/or program strategy definition evolves over time
- Work across Audible, applying broad strategic influence, continuously unblocking teams, aligning teams toward simple, coherent approaches
- Help teams make trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs and ensure teams are able to find a path forward in difficult situations
- Run and manage the business cadence of programs (meetings, planning, reviews) as needed, driving detailed discussions, high-level alignment, and complex decisions
- Regularly produce detailed verbal and written communications of high fidelity, at both executive and team levels, including taking and sending meeting notes when needed
- Strive to continuously improve, streamline, eliminate excess process, drive efficiencies, and create standardization of work when possible
