Compensation includes a base salary of $131,600.00 - $219,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.Job Description
The Director of Program Management leads complex, cross-departmental programs within the Network & Field Ops organization. This position is pivotal in providing strategic leadership, ensuring seamless planning and execution, and driving operational excellence. The Director is responsible for defining and managing the Field Operating Model Capabilities program to establish standard best practices and shape the future network tool roadmap. Additionally, this role involves managing a team of Project Managers, conducting critical path analyses, and ensuring the successful achievement of program goals. Mastery of industry-standard project management tools and techniques is essential.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Program Leadership and Accountability:
Define and manage the Field Operating Model Capabilities program to drive standard best practices and shape the future state network tool roadmap.Oversee and manage the program's scope, cost, and schedule, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient execution to meet objectives. Held accountability for budget adherence, timeline management, and achieving key milestones.Develop and implement comprehensive program plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.Ensure projects achieve business, functional, and operational goals while adhering to constraints imposed by customers, budgets, strategic objectives, or other external factors.Planning and Execution:
Conduct critical path analyses to identify dependencies and potential risks, ensuring timely and successful program delivery.Ensure adherence to change management procedures and allocate necessary resources for implementing changes.Partner with boundary partners to support long-range planning (LRP) for the program.Stakeholder and Team Management:
Lead and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Evaluate project needs, create a supporting team structure, and source talent to deliver successfullyPlay a leadership role in executive-level forums, representing program progress and addressing any concerns.Engage with end-users to ensure appropriate testing and adoption of project outcomes.Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor and provide management with comprehensive visibility across all project management activities, including current focus areas, issues, budget/costs, near- and longer-term priorities, and business impact.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree: In Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in program/project management, including a proven track record with complex, cross-functional programs.The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years’ experience in a related field; OR 14 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.Leadership Skills: 5+ years of experience in a leadership role requiredCommunication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with and use of industry-recognized project management tools and techniques.Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Experience resolving complex issues through critical path analysis and risk management.Preferred
Experience in telecommunications industry desiredPrefer certification in Project Management (PMP)Prefer certification in Agile or SAFe methodologiesBenefits
