Director, Program Management
Overview The Director of Program Management is responsible for establishing & maintaining the governance framework that supports an Enterprise Mindset environment across Hussmann. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of a portfolio of complex programs/projects, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives. This role involves engagement with strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and continuous process improvement to drive overall results. The Director works closely with executive leadership, stakeholders, and teams to ensure all programs/projects are completed on time, within scope, meeting set objectives and on budget. Responsibilities Program Strategy & Execution: • Establish and enforce a governance framework that is aligned with the vision & strategy of the PMO. • Partner with leadership to prioritize program initiatives and optimize resource allocation and workload balancing. • Provide hands-on leadership for large-scale programs from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery. • Define portfolio objectives, scope, and success metrics, while ensuring proper resource allocation. • Drive operational excellence through process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. • Serve as the principal point of contact for project/program management best practices, governance policies & standard PMO processes for the organization. Leadership & Stakeholder Management: • Lead and mentor a team of program managers, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. • Collaborate with executive leadership, functional leaders, and external partners to ensure continued alignment with business priorities throughout the program timeline. • Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed, and communication remains clear and consistent. Risk Management & Problem Solving: • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure program success. • Resolve escalations and remove roadblocks to maintain program/project momentum. • Ensure compliance with Panasonic & industry regulations, company policies, and best practices. • Ensure strategy for change management is included in all projects. Financial & Resource Management: • Develop and manage program/project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. • Optimize resource allocation across projects to maximize impact and efficiency. • Establish dashboards and tools to consistently track financial performance and report on key metrics to executive leadership. Process Improvement & Best Practices: • Establish and refine program/project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks, increasing organizational maturity. • Foster a data-driven culture, leveraging analytics for decision-making and performance tracking. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program/project delivery and organizational agility. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred). Experience: 12+ years in program/project management, with at least 7+ years in a leadership role. Excellent track record in establishing and leading a PMO in a complex organization. Strong track record of managing and completing complex, cross-functional enterprise-wide programs/projects in a fast-paced environment. Cross functional experience in areas such as engineering, Finance, IT, Manufacturing preferred, Demonstrated experience establishing organizational credibility and confidence with executive leadership to operate & make business impact decisions autonomously. Ability to act as an organizational change agent capable of influencing cross-functional teams and facilitating consensus best fit outcomes that will deliver long term Hussmann stakeholder results. Proven organizational agility to drive impactful program deployment with Organizational Change Management acumen and effectiveness. Proficient with agile software development and project manager methodologies Excellent communications and documentation skills Strong financial acumen with experience in program / project budgeting and cost control Strong mentor and coach Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and people management abilities. Ability to manage ambiguity and drive results in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in program/project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
