What You Will Do:
This Executive Consultant for the Physician Strategy, Operations & Services area will be responsible for the profitable growth of the firm’s Healthcare Physician Operations & Services area within our Strategy and Innovation area. The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare industry experience with a proven track record of delivering innovative clinical and strategic performance solutions to physician practices and provider systems. This individual will lead the design, development and implementation of solutions to create high performing health care provider organizations design and lead a portfolio of critical consulting engagements at physician groups and practices across the country. The business lines that the Director will be part of leading include a full range of Physician-Hospital integration and affiliation issues including clinical, operational and revenue cycle assistance with merging, integrating and stabilizing practice operations and billing as well as assessment of and implementation of provider based billing.
This executive consultant will participate in and help direct nationwide business development and relationship management activities for Guidehouse Healthcare clients and prospects and provide leadership for structuring and integrating our current offerings to serve their needs. Finally, this individual will play a key role in helping guide the firm’s continued development of leading-edge consulting, in the performance improvement service line.
Client Relationship Management
Actively manage a portfolio of client engagements and consulting staff of the enterprise assuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met
Across active engagements, strategize with consultant teams on project approach, facilitating communications, and managing risk
Drive quality and standards of work product. Ensure superior engagement quality
Maintain strong relationships with C-level contacts at client healthcare organizations
Develop and instill best practices throughout the organization.
New Business Development
Serve as a thought leader in the public domain and assist in building the Guidehouse Healthcare brand
Leverage the firm’s existing healthcare industry relationships and develop new relationships to develop new clients and expand existing client relationships
Serve as the lead executive for new business opportunities
Serve as content expert for client issues
Be personally engaged in growing the practice at a rate of $3-$5M in annual new business for the firm
Serve on the firm’s panel of national spokespersons on matters relating to performance improvement, revenue management, compensation, facilities, workforce, clinical and administrative redesign, pricing and reimbursement, market research and practice management.
Consulting Staff Leadership
Drive innovation of products to assist clients with readiness for healthcare reform
Direct line management for consultants assigned to client engagements led
Career development, advocacy for, recruitment of and retention of members of the Strategy & Innovation consulting team
Training and on-boarding of new consultants
Contribute to the development of a positive and performance oriented culture
Content Expertise
Ability to lead a comprehensive assessment of physician groups operations and areas for improvement leading to a comprehensive redesign of client workflow and processes
Experience with innovative third party payor contracting arrangements, including clinical integration, full and partial risk capitation, bundled payments, shared savings arrangements and pay-for-performance; Ability to assess the payor environment and strategic plan for approaching payors to ensure value capture from plan design/contracts
Expertise in physician led, professionally managed health system sponsored physician employment with appropriately aligned incentives around both physician practice performance and quality metrics including adherence to best practice clinical guidelines, cost effective medicine and other quality indicators
Ability to review processes of care and identify gaps (staffing, process, culture, etc.) to migrate to an optimum care organization
Ability to review IT infrastructure and facilitate the discussion around the necessary investments needed to set up the organization for future healthcare needs
Ability to relate effectively and with the highest degree of credibility to health system C-suite executives in the context of business development, marketing and sales as well as service delivery
What You Will Need:
A minimum of 10+ years of increasing responsibility in healthcare industry and consulting combined
5+ yrs. of recent consulting experience in preferably large, matrixed, consulting /service organizations
Deep content expertise in physician and integrated delivery system strategy and performance improvement
Demonstrated track record in business development, client management and measurable results for clients in health care services
Proven experience developing client relationships including current and prospective clients, ability to assess and define their needs, position relevant products and services to address their requirements and play a key role in securing new business for the firm
Proven ability to develop senior-level relationships with both independent and hospital physician groups.
Business development or consultative sales experience preferably in a professional services environment
Ability to travel routinely as needed to client sites.
What Would Be Nice To Have:

Outstanding written and oral communication skills including public speaking for large and small groups, the ability to leverage the written word in a clear, concise and compelling manner as a tool for communication and persuasion
Masters’ degree in business, healthcare administration or equivalent professional experience; RN or MD degree desirable but not required
Comfort with ambiguity, a strong sense of confidence without arrogance, creative but practical, flexible but with a strong results orientation, appreciation for the importance of details but with a higher calling to advance strategic imperatives
Business development or consultative sales experience in a professional services environment with consistent achievement of personal quota exceeding $2 million credited annually.

The annual salary range for this position is $219,500.00-$329,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
