This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL

Position Overview:

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the quality system, the quality improvement efforts within the division and ensuring that quality procedures are current and appropriate to meet customer requirements.  This position reports to the Vice President of Quality and Technical Services of the Food Division.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the Corporate Quality department consisting of 5 direct reports with responsibility for supporting the quality programs of 8 manufacturing locations in the US. Update and maintain Corporate-level production control documentation that meets current customer and third-party auditing requirements. Ensure the Division conforms to operating specifications and quality control plans using approved SOPs with certified gauges and responds appropriately to non-conformances Manage an effective internal and supplier auditing program. Maintain multiple quality-related computer systems. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Technical Service departments to develop and implement system improvements that further Crown’s ability to meet customer expectations. Develop and participate in training in SPC, food safety and common quality-related problem solving tools. Lead reviews of internal and external data to identify chronic issues, develop corrective action plans and enact preventive measures. Participate in the hiring and selection process for all plant-level quality managers and supervisors.
