Job Description

Brookfield is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical experience to work on the Housing Asset Management team. This position will support the Asset Management and Portfolio Management team in being directly responsible for reporting for all multifamily and student housing investments with operating partners and assisting with analysis that drives strategic decision-making.

As a member of the Asset Management team, this role will be involved in all aspects of asset management financial analysis, supporting the preparation and maintenance of a wide array of analytical reporting, modelling and presentations. This dynamic position requires extensive collaboration across various business units across Brookfield and its partner’s organizations, including Asset Management, Finance, Operations, and Investor Relations.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of quarterly valuations and review of current, projected, and forward investment returns, and assisting with analysis in communicating periodic changes of same.

Prepare quarterly submissions and PowerPoint presentation for Senior Management and supporting analysis.

Work with other finance, asset and portfolio management, and investments team members to develop and consolidate a 5-year business plan on an annual basis, understanding key strategies and risks within the business plans, as well as key changes to the plans from the prior year

Perform variance analysis of monthly results to budget/forecast assumptions and review monthly operational results with portfolio company teams.

Monitor liquidity needs across investment portfolio and assist in coordinating funding capital calls and distributions.

Monitor ongoing debt compliance requirements, upcoming maturities, and hedge maturities, and assisting with related strategy.

Assist with property transactions, including acquisition, disposition, and refinancings with respect to its impact on reporting, accounting, and valuations.

Play an integral role in onboarding and integration of new assets into private fund and public company reporting.

Direct involvement in quarterly forecasting and annual business planning, including preparation of business plan templates for both IFRS reporting and private fund reporting.

Work directly with the Investor Relations team to respond to ad hoc investor queries, update quarterly asset case studies and prepare for quarterly investor presentations.

Participate in strategic projects to maximize value creation (e.g., business process improvements, ESG initiatives, data analytics).

Requirements:

7-10 years of relevant real estate work experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and FP&A experience

Strong excel skills

Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail

Ability to take pro-active initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time

Degree in Accounting, finance or related business discipline; CPA license a plus

Demonstrated ability to lead work products and working collaboratively with stakeholders

Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations

Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities and apply a pragmatic and efficient approach to timely handle complex assignments

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of working with individuals across various levels and backgrounds

Interest in continuous improvement of our processes and outputs

Demonstrates a commitment to shared success above personal accomplishment or recognition

Salary Range: $160,000-190,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
