Director, Regulatory Affairs - Insurance Compact Commission

**Job Description:**
The Insurance Compact Commission has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Regulatory Affairs. The Director of Regulator Affairs is a senior executive position. This position is responsible for developing and overseeing strategies that align with member goals and promote robust member engagement and collaboration. This position collaborates with the executive leadership team, officers, and members to deliver excellent committee support, member state relations, and regulator training and support. This is a full time, remote position.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Works closely with the designated representatives and regulators in Compacting States to expand and deepen state relationships and engagement with respect to Commission activities.
+ Oversees the exceptional delivery of strategic staff support for member and stakeholder committees, including the Product Standards Committee, Rulemaking Committee and Adjunct Services Committee.
+ Identifies short-term and long-term regulator needs and drives cross-functional teams across the Compact Office to support state partnerships and ensure member needs are addressed.
+ Provides outreach and training for state insurance regulators, state legislators, company filers and consumers regarding subjects and activities within the Commission’s scope of authority.
+ Serves as the liaison with NAIC initiatives and committees to keep abreast of activities, such as model law development, which may affect the Uniform Standards and other Compact rules and initiatives.
+ Provides excellent customer service and effectively works with Commissioners, state insurance regulators, state legislators, company and industry representatives, consumers, and NAIC team to timely address questions and concerns.
+ This position will coordinate closely with the Executive Director to manage the workload and deliverables of the regulatory affairs team.
+ This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to; interviewing, hiring, mentoring, coaching, motivating, training and professional development of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
**Skills and Abilities:**
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
+ High level of discretion and confidentiality.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
**Experience and Education:**
Bachelor’s degree and/or 15 years or more of experience in a related position. Ten or more years of experience working in insurance regulatory matters.
**Preferred Experience:**
+ Experience in the area of insurance product regulation.
+ Experience working in or for a member services organization.
+ Experience working with Tableau, JIRA, Workday and NAIC SERFF.
**Compensation:**
Starting at $142,382 up to $165,000. To be commensurate with experience and education.
