Primary Job Location: (USA) Will need to be currently located in or willing to relocate to the Whitestone, NY area.
Travel: This role requires up to 25% travel with the ability to commute to the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science or relevant science discipline required.
Summary:
The Director of Regulatory and Supplier Quality, develops, improves, and drives compliance to all Regulatory and Supplier Quality requirements at BODYARMOR. This person will be a strong leader who works well cross functionally to assure Regulations in the country of sale are applied and complied to at the design phase of Innovation through to first production and in-market. This resource will lead the assessment, approval and ongoing improvement of suppliers and the assessment and approval of all raw and packaging materials.
What You’ll Do for Us:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regulatory
Lead and drive compliance to the BODYARMOR Regulatory program end to end Develop, document, and lead the implementation of the BODYARMOR Regulatory requirements through policy and procedureDevelop and approve all labels including Nutritional Facts Panels (NFP’s) and Ingredient Statements in compliance to FDA regulations and BODYARMOR standardsEvaluate, substantiate, and approve all product claimsLead the state water label registration and licensingKeep up to date on all new and relevant emerging Industry Regulations and develop plans for implementation and or/mitigationSupplier Quality:
Lead the BODYARMOR Supplier Quality program end to endDevelop, document, and lead the implementation of the BODYARMOR Supplier Quality requirements through policy and procedureAssess and approve all new suppliersLead Quality and Food Safety audits of all suppliersDrive and lead supplier, and raws and packs performance improvement activitiesReview and approve all new raw materials and packagingLead the microbiological, food fraud, and FSVP assessments and mitigations on materials and suppliersReview and approve finished product specificationsLead the product certifications programs including Kosher and NSF for sportWhat You’ll Need:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in science or a related discipline is required, Masters (incl. Registered Dietitian) preferredExperience: 5 to 7 yrs. in a similar Regulatory role, food and beverage experience preferred.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the FDA Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Regulations, as well as working knowledge of USDA, EPA, state and local requirements. Experience in International food and beverage Regulations (Canada, Mexico) desiredCommunication Skills: Ability to author reports clearly and concisely and in a timely mannerGenesis experience in developing product labeling requiredLeadership: People management experience is desiredSupplier quality management experience desiredPCQI, HACCP certified with experience in developing, writing, and implementing plansManager of Quality and Organizational excellence or similar certification desiredWhat We Can Do For You
